Who doesn’t love a county fair! Ice cream, hot dogs, animals, and rides. It’s the perfect wrap-up of summer. Agricultural fairs in US did not catch on until the early 19th century, when the first American fair was held in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. This early fair, organized by Elkanah Watson in 1807, was small, consisting of only sheep shearing demonstrations.

Ehrich, now known as Harry Houdini, left his family to pursue his magic career. By the age of twenty, Harry had been performing small acts throughout New York. He soon joined a circus where he began to develop and perfect his escape tricks.
Through the years, Houdini gained fame after repeatedly escaping from police handcuffs and jails. Harry was even given certificates from various wardens for escaping from their prisons.

The evolution of the iconic crayon, its packages, and profiles of every color from Sky Blue to English Vermilion.
Crayola was founded in 1885 in New York by cousins Edwin Binney and Charles Harold Smith (the Binney & Smith Company),which made pigments for various industrial uses.
The first box of Crayola crayons was produced in 1903. It had eight crayons and sold for 5 cents.
