I’ll be at the Alabama Craft Guild show next weekend! Stop by to see my handmade cork bags at the Vestavia Civic Center.

The Alabama Craft Guild’s 53rd Annual Fine Craft Show is almost here. Join us October 31–November 1 starting at 9:00am at the Vestavia Hills Civic Center for a weekend celebrating Alabama’s finest makers.

Explore handcrafted pottery, jewelry, woodwork, fiber art, glass and more — all created by artisans who keep our state’s craft traditions thriving. It’s the perfect chance to meet the makers, shop local and support the arts.

Free admission and parking. Bring a friend and make a day of it.

I’ve had this pretty green corduroy fabric for a while and decided it would make a nice fall purse. It has a colorful lining, credit card slots, and a 1” wide cotton webbing strap. Small, lightweight, and perfect for when you want to carry just the essential items.

New color! I just received this “agave” colored cork and couldn’t wait to use it. I paired it with a brown zipper and two-toned strap (agave/brown) to make it extra special. The khaki/brown lining and antique bronze hardware finish off the look.

These bags and others have just been added to my website ModisteDesigns.shop. Unfortunately, one of my biggest art shows of the year was cancelled and I have a large inventory. Since I can’t sell them in person this weekend, I’m listing as many as I can online. Each bag is handmade one at a time from materials like cork, colorful cotton, and waxed canvas. Thanks for supporting small businesses!

I’ll have these pretty sunglass cases at the Bluff Park Art Show this Saturday. They are made with sustainable cork, have coordinating cotton fabric linings, and magnetic snap closures. Stop by to get one for yourself or as a gift for someone special!

I get asked a lot of different questions when I’m set up at festivals and markets. This video is for all the dads out there who look at my cork bags and accessories and jokingly ask, “do they float?” Well, yes, they actually DO float!

Day 2 of the Monte Sano Art Festival! I’ll be here at booth 21 until 4 pm. Hope to see you there!
