Things Your Handbag Knows About You That Your Therapist Probably Doesn’t.
Let’s be honest. Your handbag knows things. Important things. Things you probably wouldn’t admit during a job interview, a first date, or under oath. 😂
Your handbag isn’t just an accessory. It’s a tiny portable crime scene that somehow goes everywhere with you. And yours has evidence.
It knows you’re prepared for absolutely everything. Need a pen? “I have one.” Lip balm? “Of course.” A receipt from six months ago? “Probably.” A random button, three hair ties, loose change, sunglasses and something you have absolutely no idea how it got there? Yep. Prepared.
It also knows you have commitment issues. You bought a new bag. You LOVE the new bag. And then five minutes later you're thinking about what you're going to put in the old bag because, well… that one has history. It has survived bad hair days, good hair days, road trips, Target runs and questionable purchases. That handbag has earned its place.
And your handbag definitely knows you have a type. Maybe it’s fringe. Maybe it's leather. Maybe it’s spacious. Maybe it’s that Western-boho look that makes jeans and a T-shirt look like you actually planned the outfit.
You can say, “I don't need another handbag.”
Your eyes say, “Put it in the cart.”
Your eyes are liars.
And let's not forget the emergency snacks. Some of us carry snacks. Some of us carry emergency snacks. There is a difference.
Then comes the biggest lie of all: “I’m just looking.”
You see the handbag. You pick it up. You inspect the details. You check the pockets. You imagine wearing it. You've already mentally planned three outfits around it.
But you're still standing there saying, “I'm just looking.”
Sure, honey. And I'm just writing a blog.
At Chaos 2 Clutch, we think a little chaos is perfectly acceptable. Your life doesn't have to be perfectly organized. Your jewelry can be tangled. Your purse can contain receipts from three different states. You can have seventeen screenshots of handbags saved on your phone.
Just have good accessories.
Because the right handbag isn't about following every trend. It's about finding that piece that makes you look at your outfit and think, “Yep. That's it.”
And if your handbag happens to be carrying enough random stuff to qualify as a survival kit? We won't tell anyone.
