🌲🎶 MUSIC IS FOR THE BIRDS: The Pine Warbler
Setophaga pinus
With the Birding Festival of the South coming to Hot Springs October 8–10, we’re pairing local birds with records we think belong in their collections.
Next up: The Pine Warbler
Fun Fact: They are the only warblers that regularly eat seeds, so while their relatives chase bugs, they’re happy to hit the snack buffet at your bird feeder.
Usually, though, you’ll need to look up.
Try pine-filled stretches of West Mountain or Northwoods in the morning, watching high branches for movement among the needles. Keep an eye out through fall and winter.
Our pairing: The Woods by Sleater-Kinney. The title fits its favorite surroundings, and we like giving an easily overlooked little bird a loud, commanding record.
Like us, they’re locals with plenty of music to share. Keep your eyes and ears open around Hot Springs, then stop by our booths for something worth making noise about.
