I am Denise Stefanko, the owner of Morning Glory Mercantile in Prudenville near Houghton Lake in beautiful Northern Michigan. I retired from a corporate job in 2014. Shortly after that my husband Joe, 2 dogs, 1 cat, and I moved to 140 acres near Houghton Lake and purchased Morning Glory. In our spare time, we enjoy first our family, riding our Harley, and camping. Morning Glory is a multi-vendor r

etail store with more than 30 small businesses contributing to the merchandise for sale. It is just the perfect combination of vintage, handmade, and new items. If you are looking for Home Décor, a gift for that special person, casual clothes for a day at the lake or a night out, or just that unusual item that you just cannot live without we can help you out. We also have a DIY area where we sell Dixie Belle Chalk Mineral Paint, Roycycled Treasures decoupage papers, and IOD products. Before purchasing the store, I had a side hustle for 15 years selling vintage and painted items. The business name was Denise’s Dream. It was literally always a dream to do this full time. She had a small modest home, but she had a knack for finding the most beautiful antiques for a dime. As a child, I loved to look at her finds and listen to her stories about how she acquired them. My dream has been realized and I wish my grandma was here to share this with. I would give her a cup of tea, she would cross her legs, lean forward with interest, and we would share stories of how we acquired beautiful things to put in our homes and yours to enjoy. Up North Vintage Market was scheduled for tomorrow the 18th. But has been postponed to next Saturday due to this crazy smoke. EDIT: Well I have been told this is Barry Manilow nor Bobby Sherman. I am not happy about my mistake as I like Bobbie Sherman better. But I shall admit my error and dream of Bobbie.😅
