When we opened Modern Mercantile & Co., we knew what it took to own, market, and manage a business. What we didn’t know was the whole new world it would open us up to!

Today, WE got to be the pop-up vendors!! 🙌🏼

We were invited to attend a private fall conference for the Louisiana Association of Secretaries to Chiefs of Police, and we packed up the shop, loaded up a handful of our vendors’ products, and got to experience the other side of things for ourselves.

And MAN, was it an experience! 👏🏻

We completely understand now why so many of you love getting out there and doing pop-ups, markets, and craft shows. The people you meet, the connections you make, the conversations you have, and of course, the sales! 😝

What we didn’t fully appreciate before today, though, was just how much hustle…and muscle…goes into setting up and breaking down those tables. My goodness, y’all put in some WORK. We have a whole new respect for it.

Today gave us an even better perspective on what it means to be a pop-up vendor, and why we love being a place where small businesses can keep their products moving while they’re out doing their own thing!

So if you’re a maker, small business owner, or vendor who wants to keep your products in front of customers while you’re out making moves of your own, we’d love to have you grow with us.

Today we were the pop-up vendors. Tomorrow, we’ll be back behind the counter cheering on all of you! 🩷✨
