$0 in the bank. $10,000 goal. 115 days until Christmas morning.

The ber months are here (ifykyk) which means it's time to run back the challenge that started it all: $0 to $10K. This time it's the Save Christmas Edition though! The mission is simple. Start today with a $0 in the bank, plan to get fund, budget, then build out inventory to get to $10,000 in gross revenue before Christmas.

Every net dollar then goes to our Saving Christmas missions.

12 angels adopted this Christmas, minimum.

100 items checked off Cook Children's Child Life wishlist. Every item on that wishlist is something a specific kid in the hospital actually asked for.

$1,000 spent directly on wishlists families have shared with us. We'll be watching for comments and DMs for (public) wishlists or organizations you all share and do our best to contribute something to each of those (within our budget).

Quick math on the clock: today is September 1st, and 115 days from today is December 25th and more than like 100 even until most donation deadlines for angel trees so we've got to get to work ASP!

Starting balance: $0. Deadline: Christmas morning. Goal: $10,000 net, all three of the above funded.

What's the $0 to $10K challenge? It's turning zero dollars into ten thousand dollars in net proceeds through fast inventory flips, with all of it going to angel adoptions, a children's hospital wishlist, and family-shared wishlists before Christmas.

Stop searching for label printers. 🛑 You don’t need it yet.

Until you’ve grown, skip the $80 thermal printer and print postage straight onto a plain white envelope in the printer you already own. If you’re not moving a lot of orders over 20 cards, or your average order value isn’t above $50, that label printer is money you don’t need to spend yet. Save that $80 to either buy more to list or budget it for discounts so you can get to top rated seller on eBay or Level 4 on TCGPlayer faster.

To print eBay Standard Envelope workflow
1. Click to get your shipping label, set your weight, choose eBay Standard Envelope
2. Print the label (not the QR code) and update the format to 4x6
3. Hit Print Label, then in printer settings pick Envelope #10 and set Fit to Printable Area
4. Load your plain white envelopes and print

Selling Cheap Cards Online: Lessons Learned #1 - How to add tracking + insurance to any plain white envelope (for free)

Am I about to eat an item not-received claim to save my reputation? Is often a worry when you ship someone something PWE on TCGPlayer or from a claim sale. We sold over $20k in bulk and low-end cards our first two months, and inevitably have had instances where either we made a mistake while packing or they claim to not have received anything at all.

So although most of our stuff we can ship with eBay Standard Envelopes there are instances where we can’t and with the state of the trading card hobby we don’t feel comfortable sending anything uninsured at this point. So, we were stoked to find TCG Tracking + Easypost.

The setup (free tier covers casual use, you only pay postage + insurance):

1. Make an EasyPost account, load a little postage, and grab your production API key in settings.
2. In TCGTracking, go to Settings, then Integrations, and paste the EasyPost key to connect them.
3. Go to Orders, hit Sync, pick your order, check the rate (about 74 cents for 1 oz + .17 for insurance if you want it), then purchase and print directly onto your envelope.

That’s it. A tracked & insured PWE for under a dollar.

We’ve been incredibly blessed to scale as quick as we have and looking forward to sharing what’s worked and what hasn’t and all we’ve learned along the way when it comes to selling low end cards online.

When the Whatnot chat is bidding $80 on a card, your brain says it must be worth $80. Sometimes the card is worth $12. The crowd was wrong, and you paid six times market.

This Chrome extension identifies any Pokemon card in a Whatnot live stream with one click and pulls the current market price before you bid.

How to use it:
1. Open Whatnot in Chrome
2. launch the extension and click identify card on any card on screen
3. See the live market price
4. Bid your number, not theirs

Without it, you bid blind. With it, you bid with a ceiling.
