Aside from the sweltering heat and rain that caused me to pack up faster than the thunder we were hearing- today’s Jersey Village Market was fast and furious! We had a wave of customers which was absolutely lovely! I didn’t get any me pictures but lemme tell you about Freshly Baked By Jenn! Her sourdough bread has been quite the hit in the hood and I’ve finally been able to nibble on some samples. Mmmm Mmm good! So good my hubby had to seal the deal with some delicious jalapeño cheddar sourdough! I don’t know her secret but I think she sneaks MSG or crack in the loaves bc they are yummy as heck! JK JK 😂, but for real though 🤤. Just another reason to mark your calendar for the next market! September 20th from 11am to 2pm!

Ted Lasso Wednesday! I’ve decided to make a soup every Wednesday bc soup is comforting and so are the messages in Ted Lasso. 🥰 I’ve always said, “don’t live life in the rearview mirror or you’ll crash” and tonight the genius writers of Ted Lasso had Ted say, “there’s a reason the windshield is bigger than the rearview mirror”. That. That right there. This is why this show is gold. So many motivational quotes in every single episode. Sheer comfort and wisdom.

Tonight’s “soup” was a mild, soupy chili and we were all for it. Yum!

Tonight’s menu: a roasted, injected whole chicken. Cheese tortellini tossed in garlic sauce. Garlic cauliflower, carrots, zucchini, and green beans thanks to my Veggie Queen daughter Bella! Topped with parm cheese too!

An indulgent Tuesday dinner that cost about $26 and will feed us leftovers for days. 🥰 A roasted chicken $8, Tony Chachere’s injectable $5, tortellini $3.99, garlic $1.00, cauliflower $3.99, green beans $3, zucchini $1, carrots $.50

I’m sure everyone’s grocery pocket is hurting. So work on making meals that will last. A roasted chicken equates to many leftovers. Chicken sandwiches, chicken & pasta? Lots of options. Plus the carcass can be used for chicken broth!

Air frying leftover veggies is delicious! And that garlic sauce? Pennie’s on the dollar with no butter so it’s super affordable and creamy AF!
