2 awesome events going on this weekend with Champions Outdoors and Lone Star Kayak Series !

First up we are kicking off the Lone Star Kayak Series Friday night then Saturday while the solo competition is happening JOIN US at Little Bay for our NEWEST addition to LSKS, the Lone Star Kidzfish2 Series, Fishing Derby!

We will also be hosting another Kayak Demo Safety Day at the Aransas Pathways site at Little Bay. We have partnered with Aransas Nature Fest to bring some awesome activities for both the competitive and recreational fishing families!

Captains meeting will take place at Charlotte Plummer's Seafood in the white tent, March 22nd from 6 until 8 pm. There will a special guest story teller and this event will be in honor of Warriors Weekend out of Victoria Texas. We hope you will join us for the LIVE in person meeting with good food, story telling and a great organization being celebrated. We welcome Texas legendary artist and storyteller Sam Caldwell as we join to kick off Round1 of the 11th Annual Lone Star Kayak Series in honor Ron Kocian and Warriors Weekend.

Sam Caldwell’s coastal scenes of waterfowl, gamefish and people are prized by collectors from Texas to Scotland. Working in transparent oil and watercolor, the Houston native seeks to capture the atmosphere of the m­oment, as well as the color and drama inherent in his outdoor subjects. Many of his recent images feature young hunters and fishers. “Wildlife is primary in my work,” he says, but notes that “people are important elements of wildlife.”



Early in his career, Sam became involved in outdoor organizations like Ducks Unlimited and the Coastal Conservation Association. He remains deeply involved in promoting coastal scenes as fine art, and uses his images to provide funds for coastal conservation.

Founded in 2007, Warrior’s Weekend is a non-profit, 501 (c) 3 Corporation dedicated to the support of veterans of The United States of America with an emphasis on those wounded in The Global War on Terrorism. This is accomplished through holding an annual fishing event for wounded military personnel in May in Port O’Connor, Texas as well as donations to veterans and veterans-based causes.
