From the NYT bestselling author of "The Next Mrs. Parrish," comes an unmissable thriller about a woman who becomes embroiled in the mystery of her husband’s deceased first wife—and after moving to his remote house in the woods, uncovers terrifying secrets.

The Plot:
Aspiring writer Savannah’s scheme to meet superstar horror novelist Bennett Bryson turns out better than she ever imagined: not only does her charming and handsome literary idol offer to read her work, he is instantly smitten with her. After a whirlwind romance, Savannah says "yes" to marriage, and the two settle into Bennett's secluded upstate home.

But just as Savannah thinks she has it made, cracks appear in her perfect new life. Bennett's behavior becomes dark and controlling: he criticizes Savannah’s writing, dictates her permitted activities, and spends most of his time locked in his office, forbidding her from entering. And everywhere, Savannah cannot escape the shadow of Bennett's first wife, the free-spirited and passionate artist Poppy, who died in a tragic accident, but who seems still to be Savannah’s rival for Bennett's affection.

Then comes an enigmatic warning: Bennett is not who he seems. The women that came before Savannah have disappeared. And Savannah could be next.

The Praise: “I loved it so much—my favorite Liv Constantine book yet, with a brilliant twist I never saw coming.”—Caroline Kepnes, NYT bestselling author of "You First."

As always, we'll give you the inside scoop the night before the book drops!

If these walls could talk, they’d scream...

The Plot: When Ellie moves to 1 Delaney Row, she hopes to find a fresh start—a place where no one knows her name, her history, or her secrets. But what she doesn’t know is that her new home is already hiding someone else’s secrets—and the people determined to keep them are watching her.

As Ellie starts to unravel the house’s disturbing backstory, coming closer to the shocking mystery at its center, she unwittingly puts herself on a deadly collision course not just with her new home’s history, but with her own as well.

A puzzle box of a thriller full of mind-boggling twists and turns, Buyer Beware is a chilling exploration of the dark secrets that any house can hold—and of the lengths we’ll go to start over.

The Praise:
“Catherine Ryan Howard is an absolute master.”—May Cobb, bestselling author of "The Hunting Wives."

"Creepy and compulsive...another bitingly smart thriller from the extremely talented Catherine Ryan Howard. Pick it up for the nightmarish premise, stay for the outstanding writing, sharp plotting and compelling characters. Just be careful you don’t suffer whiplash from the twists."—Gilly Macmillan, bestselling author of "What She Knew" and "The Burning Library."

For today's , we are highlighting one of McKenna's favs! Rediscover the legendary Anthony Bourdain through his three early crime novels full of criminal cooks, bloody kitchens, and extra-sharp knives.

It was the seedy 1990s, and Anthony Bourdain was an anonymous headband-clad chef in New York. Sweating over gas ranges with criminals-turned–prep cooks, he loved the camaraderie of cleaving beef bones with the troublemakers of the world. It was all part of a good kitchen, and to him, it was art.

Bourdain’s first book, Bone in the Throat, was pulled from the entrails of this world. The mafia caper follows wannabe chef Tommy’s stint at a red sauce joint in Little Italy, unaware that it’s in trouble with the mob—and now he is too. After writing, Bourdain headed to St. Martin to “straighten himself out.” Soon came Gone Bamboo, a thriller that follows Henry, an assassin who thinks he can hide in St. Martin after a botched murder. Then Bourdain published Kitchen Confidential, the book that made him a legend. But before cleaning up his act for good, Bourdain had one final job: to write The Bobby Gold Stories, which follows Bobby as he takes a job at a mobbed-up club, then falls for a fiery cook who’s more trouble than he can handle.

Full of knife-slinging chefs, fast-talking criminals, and the kitchens that harbor them all, these books reveal Bourdain's mind before his fame.
