MIRTH WAS STARTED IN 2014 BY TWO SISTERS WHO HAVE ALWAYS LOVED A GOOD CAFTAN. MIRTH ethically creates modern resortwear and homegoods using heritage textile methods. we are proud to be a part of the community of designers creating better, more special things. feel good, wherever you are. DRESS WITH PURPOSE

we believe the clothing we wear can serve a greater purpose. this is why we started MIRTH. we donate a portion of each sale to a charity for children in jaipur, india, home to many of our artisan partners. our handmade collection features artisan-made textiles. these collaborations help sustain the ancient art, and provides ethical employment, education and pride to the women weavers and block printers and their families. we think they’ll always transport you to a place of mirth.

It’s been over 11 years of working with our artisan partners in India and we still find ourselves in awe of the block printing process. A wooden block is hand-carved with the pattern, then dipped into dye (each color is its own block!), carefully aligned, and pressed into the fabric, then the process begins again. And again. And again.

Are there faster, cheaper and more precise ways to make clothes? Of course. But we love the care, history and art that go into this process and it’s one we’re really proud to celebrate and keep coming back to, year after year.
