The Historic Hovland Dock

This beautiful 12 piece set of postcards by Normano Sen captures the dock in all her splendid glory and many moods.

The Hovland Dock sits in Chicago Bay and was built in 1905, and is the last of its kind on Lake Superior.

In its heyday, Hovland was known as the Lake Trout Capital of the world.
The dock was used for commercial fishing and saw steam ships such as the America, which brought supplies and mail to the local settlers.

Today it still stands as a reminder of the past, holding many fond memories to all who've known her.
