We were given a box of scrap wood a month or so ago, just couldn't bring myself to burn the bigger pieces. A little knife work, and some light sanding, and we turned throw away material into keepers...I hope! Too bad we don't know what the dark wood is, it's not walnut.

Well, we are still working on the new shop, and the old/current one is a bit full, but we were able to work on a few things the last couple weeks. Finished up the winter break with some letter openers and knife shapes.

Did another lantern for a friend....this sassy old girl was proud of her age and wanted to embrace it!!! We just cleaned her up, clear coated her and added "flame" lights....she is amazing!!!

Wrapping up a weekend of new things, we finished the decorative paddle, juniper pear shaped spoon, and we tried our hand at recreating a spoon we picked up from a recycler out of the cypress we received from our wood dealer.

Paid a visit to the wood guy this morning, was able to score a little more flamed box elder. Of course I couldn't get out of there without some new wood to try, so we also came back with a slab of Siberian Elm and a chunk of cypress from an old saurkraut vat.

The Siberian Elm is the wood at the end.of the tail gate

All sealed up and drying. Not a bad way to wrap up the weekend.
