It’s happening!! So many have reached out in anticipation of our opening and we have been hard at work trying to make that happen as soon as possible. The process has taken slightly longer than originally planned but we are happy to report that we are at the end stretch, organizing shelves, decorating, finalizing our website, and little finishing touches.

We anticipate opening our doors and welcoming everyone in for a soft opening by the end of the month with a grand opening event to follow. After going back and forth about this, the decision was made to soft-open when possible and plan for a special grand opening as the exact date is up in the air. Locking in a grand opening date when there are still so many moving parts was just too challenging AND in the event that an unexpected something should happen the last thing we would want is to cancel a scheduled grand opening celebration.

When we open the doors to the public it will be announced on our social media with limited hours as we ease into this and additional events on our calendar for October will be shared. We are SUPER excited about a special guest author joining us for a SPOOKTACULAR event, but one major announcement per day. 💜👻💜

Today, we remember the many innocent lives lost, the acts of bravery made to protect the lives of others, families and loved ones left behind, and the first responders who showed up to assist in rescue efforts despite the danger at hand.

It has been 25 years since the attacks of September 11th, 2001. It is hard to believe that many years has gone by, as the events of that day and the many days to follow after are forever etched into our memories. That day changed our country, our world, and our resolve to fight terrorism.

We will forever remember the lives lost and wish the families, loved ones, and survivors impacted by these tragic events comfort.

We hope everyone enjoyed the past few days and maybe had the chance to spend time with family and friends to round out the summer and welcome the "ber-months" this weekend! We took a few days off to recharge and refocus on our end but are back at it today and excited to be working towards getting our doors open soon! With today being International Literacy Day there will certainly be some time carved out of the day to enjoy a book. One of the reasons Knightmare Stories Bookshop came to be centers around literacy, so today is important to us! We are curious, what is your favorite memory from when you were learning to read?

💜👻💜 Here's mine - from a VERY young age of about 3 yrs old my grandparents would take me to the local library at least once a week, where I would stack as MANY books as I could carry to the checkout. Once back at their house I would explore those books over the course of a few days before repeating this process the next week. This, my friends, is how I became a bookworm and a reader at a very young age. I haven't stopped since! 💜👻💜

Today, August 15th is 💜 Bookstore Romance Day! 💜 While our doors have yet to open, we sure have been feeling the love from YOU all lately and we wanted to thank you ALL for your support. Bringing Knightmare Stories Bookshop to life has been a lot of work but your support keeps us going when things get overwhelming. Yes, there are times when we get overwhelmed, but it is a dream to bring this to the community and that joy far outweighs the feeling of being overwhelmed. We anticipate opening our doors for an official grand opening in September but hoping to do a soft opening before then when possible!! We are getting sooooo close but there are quite a few items on our "to-do" list to work through to get us to door-opening status. So, however you plan on celebrating Bookstore Romance Day, know that you are loved by us to the moon and back! 💜💜💜

It’s National Cat Day! Cat show and tell time, I’ll tell you about my cat and hope you’ll share yours!

This is my sweet boy, Sage! 😻🐈‍⬛😻

I adopted him from the Humane Society when he was a year old he and he is now three, turning four in November. Sage is the best familiar a witchy gal could ask for. He is harness trained, loves to go on kitty adventures, he plays fetch, is very vocal, enjoys stalking me in the shower, sleeping on my head, and loves belly rubs plus so much more that makes him so very special. Usually I read stories but I’ll tell a quick one today…

I truly believe he was sent to me at just the right time, I was recovering from a heart attack and just about three months after adopting Sage my sweet epileptic chihuahua, Rico, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. I was going through so very much but something urged me to go to adopt a cat that day and i am so blessed that I listened to that urge. Without Sage the passing of Rico would have been more than I, or literally my heart, could handle. They had a short few months together but Rico was able to bond with Sage and teach him the “ropes” before he passed. Animals are amazing and I celebrate Sage often, just a little more today!
