Can you overcharge a lithium battery? ⚡🎣

It’s a common question, especially if you leave your fishing electronics battery plugged in after a long day on the water.

Lithium batteries can be damaged by overcharging, but a properly functioning Battery Management System (BMS) helps protect against it. That doesn’t mean you should use just any charger, though. Choosing a charger designed for your battery is an important part of keeping it in good condition.

Your lithium battery may be able to power your fishing electronics in freezing temperatures, but charging it is a different story. Charging a battery when it’s too cold can damage the cells, even if the battery was working fine out on the ice.

Before plugging in your battery after a cold day of fishing, make sure it has warmed into the manufacturer’s approved charging temperature range.

Today, we remember.

We remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We honor the first responders who ran toward danger, the men and women who showed extraordinary courage in the face of unimaginable tragedy, and the families whose lives were forever changed that day.

Twenty-five years later, we remember their lives, their sacrifice, and the strength shown by Americans in the days that followed.

We will never forget.
