(1)

in November of 1978 Steven Reiley and Philip Greenberg opened a full service violin shop known as "Guarneri Violin Shop". In 1981 Steven and Philip purchased "the house on the hill" and changed the name of the shop to "Guarneri House". In 2014 Steven and Paula Reiley retired from Guarneri House. The house was turned over to the next generation and the name changed once again to "Guarneri House LLC

" . The violin shop is now owned by Aaron Reiley and his wife Linda Reiley who are expanding the business in many ways. Even though the Reiley's are retired they still work at the shop one day a week, Paula helping all the customers she has know over the past 30 plus years as well as making new friends. Steven still rehairs and repairs bows on Wednesdays, as well as appraising instruments and bows. Steven has a unique eye and vast knowledge of the history of fine stringed instruments and bows. Every one of our customers are special and unique. From our life-long customers, to the person who walks up our driveway to visit for the first time. This started as a family oriented business and we plan on keeping it that way.

Steve McCann has been working at the shop for a long time, and he never ceases to amaze me. We had an instrument come in that was backed over by a car - yes, I said a car - though it only damaged the bottom, it was still in 100 pieces. They really wanted it repaired, which, in the back of my mind, I thought, 'Put it out to pasture and buy a new one.' But Steve had a different idea and said, 'Sure, I can restore it.' I wish I had a picture of how many pieces this violin was in, but you can imagine - I mean, it was run over by a car. He fit every piece back where it belonged, and the results are nothing short of amazing.

Our appreciation is extended to those who attended our bow sale, which was both a pleasure and a success. If you did not have the chance to view the bows and would like to, please do not hesitate to contact the store. The owner of the collection has decided to leave the bows with us for a while, and viewing appointments can be arranged.
