I'm exploring an idea called 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘀 — a mobile version of the bookstore that could bring books, book clubs, and other fun events straight to towns across Southeast Kansas, once a month, without anyone having to drive all the way to Humboldt.

If you live in (or near) 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗸𝗮, 𝗛𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱, 𝗦𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗻, 𝗬𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗮, 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘆, 𝗘𝗿𝗶𝗲, 𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁, I'd love to hear from you! 🎬📖 Have you watched Christopher Nolan's 𝘖𝘥𝘺𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘺 in theaters? Here's a fun fact: the book behind it all is even better.

Emily Wilson's 2017 translation is the one Nolan actually pointed to as his inspiration — he's said the film's opening line came straight from her now-famous rendering of Homer: "Tell me about a complicated man." It reads fast, feels alive, and honestly makes a 2,700-year-old story feel brand new.

Bonus twist: Wilson herself has some strong opinions about how the movie turned out. Honestly, you might have to read it just to decide who's right.
