Skate Lab is a full-day RollerCademy experience built for skaters who want to understand their setup, learn how to maintain it, figure out what they actually need. Then take it all into the skatepark for an open-practice with Coach assisted guidance.

Bring the skates you’re already rolling on. We’ll help you break down your setup, assess your gear, get hands-on with your own equipment and finish the day skating together in a private, indoor group setting.

Boy, did I believe in myself. If you know me...you know.

I started Surf City Skates in my garage downtown Huntington Beach because I wanted to help people fix their skates. People would always ask me where I got my skates, for years, when I skated the Boardwalk. So I decided to create a skate company to help them get skates. So I sold Sure Grip 2nds out of my garage, like literal garage skate sales. Did I get so much s**t from the other shops at the time...

But hey, the skate-garage sales were going great. So, I bought a $100 pop-up canopy, signed up to downtown Huntington Beach's Tuesday night Street Fair with the pennies I had. I was representing Sure Grip for the skatepark, and I asked if I could sell their new-old stock stacked in their basement or like 40 years. Amazing stuff, I knew it would sell. And it did. They, and another skate industry legend, John McFadden, supported me and let me sell their skate stuff out of my booth, even though I didn't "have a brick and mortar". That was the beginning....and here we are. I'm so grateful for all the years. Can't wait to share with you all what's coming. Thank YOU ALL for all of the support over the last 11 years.
