Heading into Monday like ☝🏼 BIG energy, composure, and a never-ending list of things to do. 😂

There’s a lot on the plate this week, a lot of moving pieces, and approximately zero signs of the to-do list getting any shorter (but that’s cool).

One thing I’ve learned in all these years of running businesses (started my first at 14!) that I don’t need to have it all figured out at once. Just keep moving, keep showing up, handle what’s in front of me, and trust that it’ll all get done.

Deep breath. Third Coffee. Big energy.

Florals aren’t where you cut budget.
They anchor the entire design.

They define the space, set the mood, and shape the guest experience from the moment people walk in. Florals connect the tables to the room, the ceremony to the reception, and the details to the bigger picture — they’re what make a space feel intentional rather than pieced together.

This is also why who you hire matters. A floral designer doesn’t just take an order — they design within your budget, consider scale, seasonality, and logistics, and ensure every floral moment works together as a cohesive whole. A florist fills a list. A designer builds an experience.

Cutting here usually means everything else feels unfinished. You can sense when lighting, linens, and rentals were carefully considered, but florals weren’t given the same attention. The result isn’t subtle — it’s a room that lacks cohesion, depth, and impact.

When florals are thoughtfully designed, everything else elevates with them. When they’re treated as an afterthought, it shows.

Reality check time and it may not be fun…..Sometimes you don’t mind being this to someone because they fill a work void and you know how to work with it. But let’s face it - it doesn’t feel good knowing you’re someone’s “cheap” option. Just because you’re that to them does not define you as that though 💖

Did you know that nearly half of all Americans are employed by small businesses? Small businesses account for more than half of all job creation since 2013. That’s pretty incredible if you ask me. Small businesses are the heart of our communities and our country ❤️

With inflation, the ever growing need for instant gratification, overconsumption, and our increasingly busy schedules, small businesses are being forgotten about. Convenience is paramount these days, and with cheap and convenient purchasing power at your fingertips with platforms such as Amazon, Temu, and other sites, it’s no wonder small businesses are folding everywhere you go and storefronts in your favorite neighborhoods are going dark 🖤

I get it. I’m guilty of it myself. I will say that I do make an effort with the things I can though. We shop for our dogs at a local pet supply store instead of online. We send our dogs to a local small groomer. We shop our local favorite boutiques and surf shops for our clothes and our kids. When back to school shopping we opted to shop small for the kids backpacks. We eat out at our local family owned restaurants. We intentionally make these decisions however small they may seem.

Seeing what’s happening to small brick and mortar businesses weighs heavy on my heart💔. We are one of them and our storefront isn’t immune to it, despite all of this glitter we show here on the gram ✨
