Pro Tip: How to spot worn-out strings before they ruin your tone. 🎻

Fresh strings have an even, uniform surface that allows them to vibrate freely and project a clear tone. But with continuous playing, two major things happen:

1️⃣ Flat Spots: Pressing against the fingerboard creates uneven wear points, disrupting string vibration.
2️⃣ Corrosion & Rust: Sweat and oils cause oxidation (especially visible on steel E strings), leading to a harsh, scratchy sound.

If your strings feel rough or look discolored, your instrument isn’t giving you its full potential!

Those intricate black and white borders aren’t just for looks—purfling helps protect the edges of the instrument from cracks while adding a timeless aesthetic.
