🌿 A Quick Hiring Update

If you’ve messaged, emailed, applied for a position, or otherwise reached out and haven’t heard back from me yet, I promise you haven’t been forgotten. ❤️

Right now, I’m wearing all the hats, which include running the storefront, handling the behind-the-scenes business work, managing inventory, coordinating classes and events, hiring, scheduling, answering messages, and, of course, being a single mom to 3.

We’ve received 70+ job applications by Gmail alone, and I am so incredibly flattered by that, but I am also extremely backlogged. I’m doing my best to catch up while keeping everything else in motion so none of the moving parts come to a halt.

Thank you for your patience and grace while I do. I promise I’m working on it. 🌿💚

Recently, we’ve had the opportunity to hire a few 15-year-olds for their very first jobs, and this is something we’re REALLY proud of.

Everyone has to have a first job somewhere. Someone has to be willing to give young people that first opportunity to learn, gain confidence, develop work skills, and get some experience under their belt. We’re happy to be that place for them. 💚

That also means they’re learning. They’re learning our systems, learning how to interact with customers, learning how to handle the register, learning how to problem-solve, and learning what it means to be part of a team.

So we’re asking our customers for a little patience and kindness. If a young employee makes a mistake or takes a little longer to figure something out, please remember that they may quite literally be doing this for the first time in their life.

We’re also going to make sure they’re treated with the kindness and respect they deserve.

Tonight Gilbert made the great escape at home and has officially (and sadly) lost his shop privileges.

I fear our trips to the shop have made him a little too comfortable with being outside, because lately he’s been trying to sneak out without his harness. Tonight he succeeded and made a straight beeline for the road.

I obviously went after him, and let’s just say I did not come out of the situation unscathed. 😭😂

Thankfully, Gilbert eventually ran right back into the yard and waited for me.

But the road by the shop is simply too dangerous to risk him getting loose. So Gilbert is officially on house arrest indefinitely.

We’re going to miss our little shop cat, but keeping him safe comes first. ❤️

We’re doing a Tiny World Terrarium Workshop THIS SATURDAY!

Come spend a couple of hours making your own tiny moss world to take home. You’ll get to choose your vessel, layer your terrarium, add moss, rocks, and all the tiny little weirdos and decorations to make it your own. 🪨🍄🌿
