Country music has lost a voice unlike any other.
From “Swingin’” and “Straight Tequila Night” to the haunting beauty of “Seminole Wind,” John Anderson brought an unmistakable sound and a whole lot of soul to country music. A true original who stayed faithful to his roots, his music will continue to be loved for generations.
Rest easy, John Anderson. 1954–2026.

The Rolling Stones, the Neville Brothers, and a little New Orleans music history!
When the Stones rolled into the Superdome in December 1981, the Neville Brothers joined George Thorogood on the opening bill—and gave a massive rock audience a taste of New Orleans funk and soul. It's one of those great concert stories where the opening acts are almost as interesting as the headliner!

Were you there? We'd love to hear your memories!

Before the Allman Brothers Band, there was Hour Glass.

Duane and Gregg Allman were already making music together in the late 1960s, blending rock, blues, and soul in a band that helped lay the groundwork for what came next. It's a fascinating chapter in their musical journey—and one worth discovering if you love the Allman Brothers.

Duane Allman couldn't be contained by one genre—and these two albums prove it.
An Anthology and An Anthology, Vol. II take you through his incredible work across blues, rock, soul, and R&B, both with the Allman Brothers Band and alongside other legendary musicians. It's a fascinating look at just how much music one guitarist could influence in such a short lifetime.

Everybody thought they were crazy. Turns out, they were living in the middle of a cultural revolution.
Everybody Thought We Were Crazy tells the fascinating story of Dennis Hopper and Brooke Hayward, whose home became a gathering place for artists, musicians, and creative minds during one of America's most transformative cultural eras. It's a glimpse into the world where art, music, Hollywood, and counterculture collided.

Before they became **The Band**, they were **the Hawks**, backing rockabilly legend Ronnie Hawkins!
It's one of those fascinating connections in music history—how a group of musicians playing together early in their careers went on to create a sound that influenced generations of artists. Sometimes the best stories in music start long before the names become famous.

What Vienna is to the waltz, New Orleans is to funk. And when it comes to funk in its purest form, it's hard to beat The Meters!
With roots in the early rock & roll backbeat and a groove all their own, The Meters helped define the sound of New Orleans funk. If you don't know them, do yourself a favor and give them a listen!

Where art and nature meet.
We had the pleasure of attending the opening of *CANOPY*, an exhibition by Australian-born contemporary painter **Charlotte Marie Isbell**, who now calls North Alabama home. In collaboration with the Land Trust of North Alabama, Charlotte brought her nature-inspired work beyond the gallery walls, including a stunning 20-foot outdoor installation at Hickory Cove Nature Preserve.
We love seeing art, nature, and our Huntsville community come together in such a beautiful way! If you missed CANOPY, be sure to explore more of Charlotte's work and follow what she creates next.
