Have you ever wanted to try some very specialized historic practice in your field? Well, how about a mid-18th-Century English gentry hunting portrait?
This one memorializes the commissioning family's recently departed beagle, and I also got the opportunity to use my elder grandson for the human model. I love historical themes and museum work. This had a touch of both.

Meet Lee Jamison, one of the six featured artists of 2nd Hands: A Night of Art, Food, and 2nd Chances.

A resident of Walker County for more than four decades, Lee is widely known as a landscape artist, East Texas regionalist, and Texas historical artist. His work is deeply connected to the people, places, and history of the region.

His recent projects include new murals along Sam Houston Avenue and University Avenue in Downtown Huntsville, as well as exhibition work and a new rotunda portrait of Sam Houston for the Sam Houston Memorial Museum and Presidential Library.
