More good news! I will be teaching again this year at Lisa Mattock’s Forage event in Huntsville, AL October 16-21. My class Williamsburg Garden is offered October 16 and 17 with the fabulous creator and slow stitching expert Lisa Mattock from Sydney, Australia teaching the 18th and 19th, followed by heirloom sewing master Connie Palmer teaching the 20th and 21st. My silk ribbon class lets you grow some beautiful garden flowers with simple embroidery stitches. If you want to learn some great techniques and ways to use vintage textile finds in your quilting join Lisa for some slow stitching fabulousness. Let Connie show you how heirloom sewing is not just for children’s clothes, she can introduce you to some wonderful ways to use these techniques. Registration and much more information is available on Lisa’s website under workshops https://www.foragebylisamattock.com.au

We love putting our Dickens Village out for Christmas so when I found Larissa Holland’s Ebenezer ornaments I had to make them. I made Scrooge and Marley a few years ago and this year I made the 3 ghosts. They are so much fun to make and I love the different felt color combinations.

Some of my favorite things from Ireland, we have one more day then home. St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin, fish ‘n chips at Kennedy’s Pub, Blarney Castle, the Killarney National Park, the Cliffs of Moher, and a sheep herding demonstration. The absolutely gorgeous countryside, farms, villages, the architecture and charm, it has been a fantastic experience.

My sister Karla and I are with our mother knocking out one of her bucket list items, a tour of Ireland. We started in Dublin at the Gresham Hotel. Their exquisite lobby featured huge crystal chandeliers, a lovely blown glass ceiling art piece and of course a life size horse lamp. We toured the city and saw St. Patrick’s cathedral where the architecture and monuments are spectacular. Of course I was immediately drawn to the needlepoint prayer kneelers and the stunning tile floor. It was an incredibly beautiful cathedral. Of course we had to have lunch at Kennedy’s pub, the fish n’ chips was fabulous ! Our next stop, Kilkenny and Waterford, to see the factory. ✔️

After my 30+ years as an Interior Designer, I have gotten to do a dream project, my own kitchen. We have had a not so attractive kitchen for 15 years and since kitchen design is one of my favorites, getting to do my own was so much fun. I have included a before and after with more after. I could not be happier with our new kitchen, it turned out exactly as I pictured it. Some of my favorite things are the custom cabinets, by Jon Marc, that go all the way to the ceiling, the Bosch counter depth refrigerator that is taller so you don’t loose cubic feet, the hand painted tile backsplash and the blind corner cabinet pull-outs. I included lighting in the upper cabinets so some of my treasured dinnerware pieces could be on display and I chose quartzite countertops because I love natural stone. We have been enjoying it for several months now and it is definitely one of the best projects I have ever done. On to my next project, the guest bathroom.

I had a wonderful time my first time teaching at the Embroiderers Guild of America, EGA, National Seminar in Atlanta last week. I had two classes full of beautiful ladies and they stitched some gorgeous initials with silk ribbon flowers. I also set up my booth, Needle Finery, and I was so blessed to have my daughter there to help me. I couldn’t have done it without her. Thank you to all the students who chose my class, thank you to the TVR region that hosted our event. It was so much fun!
