Just like anything else, dresses are just things.
But on your little girl they have life, movement, magic.
They become part of the special days that will live on long after they are too short, too tight, too tiny.
And I think that’s what makes them extra special.

Thursday Tips …. It’s gonna be a thing!

I’ve told my friends, my family, and even my hair girl this morning all about these things and now I’m telling you!

They’re too good to keep to myself.

We watched the movie on Disney+, but you can rent it through Amazon Prime.

I borrow the audio book through my library and the Libby app.

If you own one of my handmade dresses, you know that it’s akin to a work of art. A lot of thought and effort that goes into each piece!

Here are 3 things I obsess over when making your dresses.

Chime in and tell me what you think is the most important!

1-Color balance
This might be my own made-up term, but I like my dresses to feel like everything belongs together, even though it’s full of different prints. I have a strategy for my creations and it isn’t all just intuition. I’m actually working on a framework that I can teach you! I always like to make sure the dress looks balanced overall and is pulling the colors that I want to highlight.

2- Buttons
I have quite the extensive collection of buttons in alllll the colors. Nothing makes me happier than finding the perfect match that sets off a print just the way I want it to. Now if I could just find a supplier that had cute button shapes then I would be in heaven!

3- Thread color
Do we match, do we contrast? Do we switch it up all over the dress or stay consistent? It’s the little things like this when I’m making each and every individual dress something special.
