We have received a ton of calls and questions:
For those not familiar, since there is no longer a $200 tax collected for some NFA items, Silencershop sued ATF saying there should not be a registry if tax is not being collected.
Silencershop won.
The district court stayed the injunction which is set to expire end of day today(midnight). No appeal or extension of the stay has been filed yet.
What does this mean? Theoretically all silencershop customers and GOA members will be exempt from having to file form 4s as of tomorrow, 8/13.
Do we expect any guidance from anybody especially the ATF? No, we’ll hear crickets
Is it clear where this going from here? No, but our NFA lady is aggressively researching & has been in contact with our ATF agent. And low & behold- no answers or guidance.
As most of you know, our NFA lady LOVES to CC’ customers in with SilencerShop and the ATF. Mainly so customers can see for themselves we are advocating for them & fighting for them to get their cans when an issue arises. SO, you know the minute she receives an answer she’ll inform & most likely ask us to publicly post it.
As for NOW: we are at a standstill & will keep reviewing all information to make the best decision for our business & most importantly our customers.
