To inspire hope and love in every encounter 🥰 that’s our team’s vision- not only today on but every day. 💚🧡💙 We do this in many ways across 24,000 square miles of southern Nebraska: through the families we feed, the protection we offer to the most vulnerable, the community partners we connect with, and our daily encounters with neighbors like Pat, a CSS Auburn Food Market client:

"We had that tornado come through in Auburn, and CSS helped us to be able to meet our deductible on our insurance by providing food that we would have otherwise had to spend our money on. I just can’t say enough - just so grateful for it.”

The CSS team is honored to nourish bodies, hearts, and souls one encounter at a time. Thank you, friends, for supporting us with your time, talent, and treasure. 🤗

🌧️"The wind-driven rain was forecast to stick around all day, all night, and well into the next day—golf tournament day. It looked as if months of planning were about to literally go down the drain. Should we go ahead and cancel now and let the golfers know when we try to reschedule the event, or do we move forward with having the tourney the next day and hope for the best? Father Joseph Walsh, then the executive director of CSS, said: 'A friend of mine has always said St. Peter is in charge of the weather. Let’s ask for his help.' So we did. A lot." 😁

🫶"I didn't fully appreciate what 'Hope in the Good Life' meant until I received an email from a monthly donor after thanking them for their support. They wrote, 'Thank you [CSS] for being Christ's hands and feet to those in our community who need assistance!' - and that's exactly what Hope in the Good Life is all about."- CSS Development Officer John Soukup

Happy anniversary today, John!!!! We're so blessed to have you performing the Works of Mercy in response to the Call of God. 🙏 Please join us in thanking John for inspiring hope and love in every CSS encounter. 💙💚🧡

Fresh podcast alert! 🎙️

In our latest episode, we explore how our community is helping ensure no one has to face hunger alone. Host John Soukup sits down with Mike Hosek, organizer of the annual Walk to End Hunger on August 8 in Lincoln, and Kristina Brandl, manager of the CSS Lincoln Food Market, to discuss how a simple walk has grown into a year-round effort to keep food on the shelves for hundreds of families in need.
They explain how friendly competitions among Knights of Columbus councils and parishes are making a difference and discuss the ongoing need for food assistance in the community. You'll also learn how YOU can join the Walk to End Hunger and/or support the CSS Food Market throughout the year to nourish 💙💚🧡

"There are opportunities all around to help neighbors in need. You just need to know where to look, and you find those places by opening your heart and asking, “Lord, how can I serve you today?” He will provide — I believe that with all my heart." 🫶In the latest , Katie Patrick shares a recent trio of CSS encounters and opportunities for YOU to support (including at our Walk to End Hunger on August 8th!).
