Alright yall. For those that have stuck around, curious if I'd ever get it together enough to start again, hopefully smarter and wiser, your faith is rewarded. Meet the Conrad 40127 Matsumoku (MIJ) made in the 70's was not one of their top teir brands like their legendary custom shop, but it was definately up there. OM sized, she's also "short" scaled, my prefered length of 24.75, like a Gibson as opposed to a Fender thats 25.5. What doed 3/4 of an inch over that long of a span get you? Easier fret distance for smaller hands and better able to handle heavier strings but for big hands, there is a reason the Strat is the hands down king of master kings of the axe..they all have massive paws and the longer scale = wider fret spacing that larger hands can fret easier. Personaly, it's because I love LP's and prefer to have "one scale to rule them all" for easier transition
Idk if anyone learned anything or if anyone will even read it after such a long journey to the new me, but I'm derermined to kick a hole in the sky and never look back
Stay tuned

Alllright. Time and weather have prevented me from completing last few guitars, they need finishes and w/out my sprayrig, I'm now to the ol rattlecan. Gowing with all black for now but a couple racing striped may be in store for the strat. And before the werkends over, we'll see if I loose my mind trying to get a blue to black burst on the LP looking right. Considering making a video anf curious what yall think of the idea. Been a year and a half since the last one

Too all my fellow restorers, modders; and guitar repair folk. I'm in a bind and, as usual, that means giving up my project guitars and this time, many parts as well starting with these. feel free to ask me any questions. I have/had plans to restore them all but lack of time,, tools, space, and particularly money have put me in a baf position too loose everything if I don't loose a little. As soon as this is corrected I'll begin the prototype for the first of my own models on the drawing board and I'll post everything as this dream reaches reality. Go big or go home. And remember
NEVER GIVE UP
NEVER SURRENDER

Possum and I were wandering, after my free water shower and shave as our RV sinks further in the mud from the porin' rain "Does anyone realize how much effort it takes for us to be this damn good lookin?" Then we smile and I scratch his chin because the answer is... it took none at all 😉

Those that know me are aware that I've been going through difficult times that I don't feel comfortable sharing on social media but it has led me to include my bread and butter, carpentry, since I have decided to go on my own and do or die by my own sword I won't be competing with my previous employers for new construction, particularly Jon and Jamie who I highly respect and wish them all the sucess they can handle. I will be instead focusing on custom working in a wide spectrum. Carpentry, cabinetry, even sound engineering as it pertains to soundwalls and home recording booths.
I considered wether to make this a seperate page and maybe once my content is overloaded I will do so, but for now, you'll get a variety. Hopefully it will drum up interest and more followers so that it reaches those that appreciate it. Surely I'm not alone? 🤣 Anywhoo, thanks so much to you few who have been curious enough to stick around and I will not let you down.

Next on the bench. A hondo 2 Jazz bass a lead singer of a local metal band sold me cheap because it was so dirty and f'ed up that my imagination tells me he threw it out bedroom window when he realized just how much work his guitarists put in to be as good as they are 🤣...3 years ago

It's a hard thing, choosing between my favorite guitar, and survival. Stupid games give out stupid prizes and yesterday I let her go for a battery and some gas for the RV, some tools that were stolen and parts that some of 'the gang" need to make them play again as well as a few groceries and a big of catfood. We'll make it. There is no option B

Strat sold yesterday and I just now realized I haven'tposted it on here since I figured out the ground issuue with Jeremy's invaluable help tracking it down. I will correct that this evening and I wish I had recorded something stratty (if that's not a real word, it should be) Going to remedy that in the future..or get jeremy or taylor to do it for me 🤣 Still primarily a rythm guy Rick 🤟 I've been working on some tool stuff, though, and since I modded the other Hondo, the LP, to Adam's specs, that should be my first sound check. This is what's on the bench this weekend. Thinking of what, exactly, to do about the "rose" at the bottom of the fretboard or cut it off entirely. Next is the marketry heastock, neck stain (if any) then assembly and setup...by Friday 😁
