This is Amanda’s wonderful entry at the county fair! Her penguin’s made with powdered glass are amazing!!! It even has a glow in the dark sky! There were only two entries this year in her category but she got the top one! @ Polk County, Oregon Fair! Go check it out!! Today (Saturday) is the last day! Till 10 pm tonight! Looks like several may go on to State! Look at all those ribbons! Wow!! 👏👏👏👏👏🏆

Our first Borosilicate Marble class is on today! 🤩👏🤩👏❤️❤️❤️
This is a 4 hour introductory class. Students will learn about safety, torches, flame chemistry and its effect on color, as well as shaping techniques, tools, and basics of making borosilicate marbles. Students will melt borosilicate glass in the flame with a torch, encase colored glass, as well as apply color to the surface. Students will learn how to operate a torch, learn to use a graphite marble mold and how to properly anneal your pieces. Students will likely be able to create 2-4 marbles.

We are closed today ~ first because we are setting up at the Polk county fair today. And secondly because with the temperatures being what they expect them to be it will be far too hot to be in the shop today without the doors open and the air quality is really bad. So stay cool and indoors, but if you do venture out this week come see us at the Polk county fair.

These four had a blast in their Garden Stones class!!!!! ❤️🤩 Can’t wait to see their finished pieces in a few days! Want to design and make your own Mosaic Garden Stone?- Students will use scrap-stained glass to create a mosaic image in a mold and then pour high strength concrete into the mold.
