PRESENTING: The Bat Country-30!

We are proud to introduce our first custom-commissioned tube amp, the Bat Country-30 - a truly one-of-a-kind creation designed and built from the ground up by our own electronics tech, Billy.

The goal was simple: a "Princeton on steroids." The result is anything but ordinary. It has been described as "guttural as all get-out" by our good friend shown in the videos here demonstrating this beast of an amp.

The Bat Country-30 is an original, hand-wired, point-to-point tube amp built around a pair of legendary 7868 power tubes. This baby can kick out over 30 watts easily, with all the clean headroom you could desire and plenty of crunch when you need it.

Of course, an amp called "Bat Country" needed artwork to match, so the completed amp includes custom artwork in the "Gonzo" style (by a fan, for a fan), though the photo and videos here were captured before the artwork was completed. You can see the style in the control k**b labeling.

This week, we have a 1966 Fender Musicmaster II. This week's post is special as we have Max demonstrating the incredible classic sound of this beautiful guitar with "Johnny B. Goode."

The 1966 Musicmaster II has a solid alder body, maple neck with rosewood fretboard, pearloid inlays, and Kluson Deluxe tuning machines. Fender hard case is included. See image captions for more.

Mr. Reid's Workshop is now the Factory Authorized Service Center for Martin Guitar in the Oklahoma City area. We also repair all makes and models of stringed instruments. We make regular runs to and from Oklahoma City to service this area. If you have friends in and around Oklahoma City, your stringed instrument repair location is Rawson Music. James Rawson will take your instrument and hand it over to us. We have added resources at Mr. Reid's to manage the repair backlog. Thanks!

Before we opened for business in early 2023 we built a lessons studio in the music store. We anticipated having students learning music in the future. The very last day of 2025 we unveiled a name for this studio. We introduce you to the John Hamlin Music Studio located in Mr. Reid’s Workshop and Music Store.
John has taught hundreds of students over many years and makes his teaching home here in the music store. We honor him today by naming the studio after him. We appreciate you John Hamlin.
