I’m drying up the goats, and right now Lola is the only girl still getting milked. It feels a little strange after all the months of twice-a-day milking, but I’m also really enjoying one of the little perks of having fresh milk right now…

Pouring fresh goat milk straight into my coffee. ☕️🥛

I’m going to miss having all that fresh milk, but I’m definitely enjoying Lola’s while I can! 🐐❤️

🍉 Watermelon Bath Bombs Get Their Seeds!

Remember when I told you about the little “accident” that happened the first time I made these? 😂

When I went to add the black watermelon seeds, my mixture was somehow a little too runny and the bath bomb had already started reacting. The “seeds” ended up raising up off the surface, and at first I thought I had completely ruined them.

Then I looked again and realized… they actually looked MORE like real watermelon seeds! 🍉😂

So now I just roll with it! I use alcohol mixed with black oxide to paint on the seeds, and sometimes they still puff up a little as the bath bomb reacts. Every one ends up just a little different—and honestly, that’s part of the fun!

These are definitely one of those products that make people smile. ❤️🍉 And I can tell you from experience… everyone adores them!

🍉 They’re out of the molds… and they’re looking GOOD! 😍

Today I’m unmolding these adorable watermelon bath bombs, and I have to admit… they’re almost too cute to use! 🍉🫧

But they’re not finished yet! Come back tomorrow to watch me add the little black “watermelon seeds” on top. That final step is what really brings them to life, and it’s so satisfying to watch!

Would you toss one of these in your bath, or would you have a hard time using something this cute? 😄

Today we had to repair our small baler, and it was a good reminder of just how dangerous farming can be.

One thing many people don’t realize is that when you shut a machine off, it doesn’t stop instantly. The flywheel and other moving parts continue spinning long after the engine is off. If you assume everything has stopped just because you turned the tractor off, that’s when accidents can happen.

Farming is one of the most rewarding jobs, but it’s also one of the most dangerous. Every day, we’re surrounded by equipment that deserves our full attention and respect.

Thankfully, today’s repair went well, and everyone stayed safe. That’s something we’ll never take for granted.

If you’re working around farm equipment today, slow down, stay alert, and make sure everything has completely stopped before you reach in. No task is worth risking your life.

I was trying to get some new photos of the goats… but Buddy had other plans! I don’t think there was a single picture he didn’t try to be in. 🤣

This is just a little behind-the-scenes fun from my newest YouTube video. I also share how we’re beginning to wind down milking season as I filter fresh goat milk and reflect on another amazing year with the girls.

💛 Can I ask you a favor? I’m really working on growing my YouTube channel, and every subscriber makes a huge difference. If you enjoy following life here at Rapha Farms, would you head over to YouTube, watch the full video, and hit Subscribe? It means more than you know!

Thank you for supporting our little farm and coming along on this journey. ❤️

Today marks the beginning of drying off the goats for the season. 🐐💛

After a busy milking season, we’re in a great place. We have enough frozen goat milk to make 15,000 bars of soap, and we’ve already made 12,000 bars this year! Thanks to these incredible girls, we’re well stocked and ready for the months ahead.

Today is day one of drying them off, so I’m reducing the amount of milk I take by 25%. To do that, I’m weighing the milk from each goat while she’s on the milk stand so I know exactly how much to leave for her.

I have to say, I’m so proud of these girls. Having a scale underneath them on the milk stand was something completely new, and I wasn’t sure how they’d react. But they trusted me, stood calmly over it, and made the whole process so much easier than I expected. Moments like these remind me how special they are.

These goats give us so much throughout the year, and now it’s time to let them slow down and get the rest they deserve before next kidding season. ❤️

Last night we welcomed 33 amazing visitors to Rapha Farms for a goat tour, and it was so much fun! ❤️🐐

One of my favorite moments happened when a little girl became so concerned because she saw a mama goat refusing to let her baby nurse. She was worried the baby wasn’t getting any milk.

I explained that sometimes babies have just finished nursing, and just like any mom, our mama goats need a little break now and then! 💕 Motherhood is hard work, whether you’re raising goat kids or human kids.

Watching children experience the farm through such caring, compassionate eyes is one of my favorite parts of these tours. Their questions, curiosity, and huge hearts remind me to slow down and appreciate the little moments.

Thank you to everyone who came out to spend the evening with us. We loved having all of you, and we can’t wait to do it again!
