🐐 Meet Leo: Professional Troublemaker 🐐

We turned around for what felt like two seconds, and somehow Leo had already mastered climbing the stall wall and was standing on the wrong side of the pen like he owned the place.

Goats never seem to ask, “Should I do this?” They only ask, “Can I do this?” And if the answer is yes… they’re already halfway through the adventure before you notice. 😂

Leo is proving that fences, walls, and carefully planned goat areas are really just suggestions. Thankfully, he’s cute enough to get away with it!

🌿😆 Making the world a little less smelly… one tube at a time!

Today we’re in the soap kitchen whipping up a fresh batch of our Lavender Deodorant. Our mission? Helping good people smell less like a hard day’s work and more like a peaceful lavender field. 💜

We can’t promise you’ll stop chasing goats, hauling hay, gardening, or sweating through summer chores… but we can help you smell better while you’re doing it! 🤣

Every batch is handcrafted right here on our farm with simple ingredients and a whole lot of love.

Who else is trying to survive summer without becoming the “What’s that smell?” person in the room? 🙋‍♀️😂

🚜 Farm projects are in full swing around here!

This morning we had a load of wood chips delivered, and Dave got right to work spreading them in the goat paddock. The goats will definitely appreciate having a drier area to walk and stand on instead of all that mud. 🐐

But the part I’m most excited about? 🎉

Dave has been busy cleaning and organizing the shop so he can put up a wall! It may not sound as exciting as baby goats or soap making, but having a more functional workspace is going to make a huge difference around the farm.

It’s amazing how many behind-the-scenes projects go into keeping a homestead running smoothly. One load of wood chips, one cleaned-up corner, and one project at a time!

🌲✂️ Soap-cutting day is always more fun with extra hands!

Today we cut a fresh batch of our Blue Spruce Goat Milk Soap, and I had some wonderful young helpers by my side. These teens have been helping out around the farm this summer with everything from labeling and packing to soap-making and market prep. Their hard work makes a big difference, and it’s been fun watching them learn new skills along the way.

If you’re at the Maple Grove Farmers Market on Thursdays, be sure to stop by and say hi! There’s a good chance you’ll meet some of the amazing young people helping keep things running here at Rapha Farms.

“Don’t cry over spilled milk”… unless it’s fresh goat milk and 25 ounces of it all over the floor before coffee. 😅🐐🥛

I always tell anyone I train to milk goats that spills happen to everyone — even me. No matter how long you’ve been doing this, sooner or later a bucket tips, a goat steps sideways, or your hand slips at the worst possible moment.

Well… my monthly milk spill happened this morning. 🤦‍♀️ About 25 ounces gone in seconds. The goats were completely unbothered, of course.

Farm life keeps you humble. Clean it up and keep milking. 😂

My dad served in the Navy and fought in World War II. I’m incredibly grateful for his courage and sacrifice, and for all those who never made it home.

Some goat kids dream of freedom… these two are actively planning an escape route at all times. 😂🐐

I found them wandering outside the fenced goat area again like they pay the property taxes around here. Gave them a head scratch, escorted the tiny fugitives back where they belong, and I’m sure they’re already plotting their next jailbreak. 🤦‍♀️

Farm life is never boring around here. 💛

Spend the day with me on the farm chaos edition 🤪🐐

Today we:
🧼 Made EIGHT batches of soap (with Ashford supervising… and “helping”)
📦 Had three teenagers labeling and packing for the St. Paul Market
🐐 Chased goats after they hopped into the air conditioner repair guy’s truck
🌿 Restocked products
🚜 Ran in 47 different directions at once
…and somehow survived 😂

Fresh batches of Hippie Fresh are finally being poured again.

We completely sold out for a bit (thank you!!), but the deodorant is officially BACK and headed to all markets this week!

Hand-poured in small batches with simple, natural ingredients that actually work — because smelling fresh shouldn’t come with a chemistry degree.
