Today I went to the gem and mineral show. I was looking for my boulder opal guy and I couldn't find him. I asked other vendors that I know and I learned that he had passed away since the last time I saw him. I hated to hear that. They said his wife who I met, passed two weeks after he did. I was so ready to show him how I wrapped the opal that I got from him and to tell him it is one of my prized possessions. It is the most expensive stone that I have purchased to wrap. I have another one from him that I haven't wrapped, but I will be holding onto that one as well.
He had cut and polished each stone. Rest in peace mister. ❤️ I am so happy I met you.
I purchased this boulder opal from a man at a gem and minerals show. I spent a lot of time talking to him. He cuts and hand polishes each peice. This is the most expensive stone that I have ever purchased. I appreciated the work he put into each piece. He was over 80 years old. I was very impressed with him and his story. I bought 2 boulder opals from him. I think I am going to keep this one for myself. He doesn’t have social media or email. I hope we cross paths at another show.
