IU Health sponsors annual art show
Patients, caregivers, and IU Health team members are invited to create works for the CompleteLife Annual Art Show. This is the ninth year for the show. Previous shows have featured a variety of original works including painting, photography, fabric, and mixed media pieces.
This year’s theme is. “Rust and Stardust:” Rust isn’t a forever state; magical moments can change its fate. Entries should relate to health and the show’s theme.
Art therapists Meaghan Wiggins and Linda Adeniyi are coordinating the show as part of the CompleteLife team at IU Health Simon Cancer Center. CompleteLife offers art, music, yoga, and massage therapy as a holistic approach to patient healing.
The theme is intended to evoke memories from the past. Participants are encouraged to focus on transforming broken-down parts into something new. The art should depict the inspiration for breathing new life into something worn and frail.
All levels of artists are encouraged to participate. Entries are due no later than noon, August 28. For more information: [email protected] or (317)944-0301. An opening reception is scheduled from 4-6 p.m. on September 17. The artwork will remain on display at IU Health Simon Cancer Center through September 30 and will then be at the Harrison Center October 2-25.
