It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce that our beloved friend, coworker, and someone truly irreplaceable to us, Junior Anderson, has passed away. Anyone who came into contact with Junior knows what an amazing, loving, loyal, and giving person he was.
He had the biggest heart, the brightest smile, and the silliest sense of humor. For us at Flying W Awards, he was family. He has been an important part of our world for over 35 years. He helped us initially create car show packages, designed and launched our very first website just because he thought we needed one, and he took the time to spread the word about us through his own OldCarsOnly website, as well as posting about us on every single message board for car shows all over the country.
He and his wife, Deniece, hosted the car show in our dad's memory to benefit Alzheimer's disease for many years. He installed our first security system just because he worried about us, and at the first sign of snow, he was already securing someone to plow our parking lot before we even thought of it. When we were at peak season and working late nights to fill orders, he would come in and cut columns and build trophies. He always showed up with a big box of donuts and pitched in to help, no matter how he was feeling. He took care of every single one of us in so many ways.
We are so shocked and devastated to lose him so soon. A memorial cruise-in is being planned by his wife, Deniece, and once she has finalized plans for that event, we will post more information so everyone who loved him can come together and celebrate what an amazing man he was.
