After my last market in May, I was so disappointed. The market didn't have any foot traffic. It had nothing to do with me, but still, I questioned everything.
Why am I creating and pouring so much of myself into this business when I’m not seeing the impact I set out to make?
That was a tough conversation to have with myself. I had this vision for Willow & Wild that was always bigger than jewelry. I wanted to create something that could reach the ones who continually doubt themselves. To remind them that they have ALWAYS been enough. That they don’t have to contort themselves to fit inside anyone else’s definition of who they should be.
I didn’t want to give that up. But I also didn’t want to fail.
I truly believe that as we face adversity throughout our lives, we collect experiences and knowledge that allow us to have a positive impact on the world around us. And let me tell you, I HAVE SEEN ADVERSITY. Lord, have I ever. And I refuse to believe I endured alllll of that just for the sake of endurance itself.
So I’m here to tell you: I may not have been through your hell, but I’ve been through hell and back again.
And I survived…by being me.
Smart. *Extremely* funny. Flawed. Kind. And REAL weird.
No, seriously. So weird.
And somewhere along the way, being unapologetically myself is exactly how I found my people. My support system. My weird and incredible friends who love my bad jokes, my strange sense of humor, and how deeply I care about the world around me.
So if you’ve ever wondered whether you need to tone it down, clean it up, make yourself easier to understand, or squeeze yourself into somebody else’s idea of who you’re supposed to be:
You are already enough.
You don’t need to make yourself smaller to fit the world around you.
All you have to do is be you.
Be boldly you.
Be kindly you.
Be wildly you.
Welcome to the wild. 🖤
