The countdown is officially on, and the energy is absolutely electric. Our massive new space is coming together beautifully, and we have to give a huge shoutout to the hardworking crew at Up North Builders for putting the perfect finishing touches on our new home. The back wall is officially up and finished, the new bathroom is looking gorgeous, and the fresh carpet is being installed right now!

From the sound of it, we will get the green light to start rolling in our racks, displays, and fixtures either this weekend or Monday. Behind the scenes, we have been working around the clock—organizing, pricing, and prepping every single item so we can hit the ground running. Once the hardware is in, filling the shelves and merchandising won't exactly be a walk in the park, but we are absolutely ready to bust our butts and pull some late nights to get this store fully loaded for you.

Because this new location is larger, we’ve already taken delivery of a massive fleet of new store fixtures. We are beyond thrilled to announce that this space upgrade means a 60% capacity increase in our clothing department and a 55% capacity increase for general merchandise! That means significantly more space, incredible lighting, and a massive expansion of the discount and liquidation deals you rely on.

With all that momentum, we are officially targeting our "Moving On Up" Grand Opening for this coming Thursday, September 10th, or Friday, September 11th!

We will be pushing hard through the weekend and will drop another update this coming Monday to lock in the exact, finalized grand opening date. ✨ TA-DA! Our sign is officially hanging at the new location! ✨

And honestly… having a sign up makes us look way more organized than we actually are. 😂🏢

While we’re currently sweating through our shirts and hauling what feels like 47,000 boxes of merchandise, the pros at Up North Builders are hard at work making the inside look amazing! 🔨 Meanwhile, we’ve also ordered a bunch of brand-new extra retail fixtures—because apparently our new goal is to see exactly how much Target and Kohl’s overstock we can fit in this larger space . 🛒😂

Seeing everything come together—and seeing all the awesome foot traffic on our new block—has us rethinking our reopening schedule!

Originally, we planned to stay closed on Tuesdays so we could “catch up” and work on our e-commerce website. But let’s be honest… you all have kept us way too busy to catch up on anything, and we’re probably better at unloading pallets than working on the internet anyway. 🤷‍♂️💻😂

🎉 So when we reopen, we’re adding TUESDAYS!

That means Tuesday shoppers would get first dibs on all the fresh merchandise we spend Sunday and Monday hauling, unpacking, and somehow finding room for. 😅📦

BUT… there’s a catch. We really love bringing you the best deals in the Northland, but we also really love our three-day weekends. 😂🛋️

So this would be a trial run! If adding Tuesday simply means everyone spreads their normal shopping across five days instead of four… well, we reserve the right to take our extra day off back and return to our classic Wednesday–Saturday schedule! 🛑🤣

Big News, International Falls! 🎉

We are beyond thrilled to officially announce that we have secured a brand-new home for International Falls Discount Outlet! Our new location is at 338 3rd St—literally just down the block from our previous spot.

A massive shoutout and a huge show of love to Up North Builders Inc. for being absolute rockstars. The space is currently finishing up a major remodel and modernization, and because they have been so amazing to work with, we were even able to add several special requests and take part in the final finishing decisions! There are just a few final touches left, and we are working right alongside them to get the doors open as quickly as possible.

This new space is significantly larger and features a bright, brand-new build. While we are super excited, we want to be upfront: because we weren’t expecting to move, we might not have enough racks, shelves, and items to completely fill the massive floor right out of the gate, even though we had just bought two truckloads right before this happened! We are actively looking to source additional shelving, display units, and racks to fill the store, and we will keep growing and expanding our selection every single day after we reopen.

We are aiming to reopen our doors very soon within the next few weeks. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for the overwhelming support, kind messages, and community love through all of this. We are turning the page to an exciting new chapter, and we can’t wait to welcome you into our new home! ✨

We are just taking a moment to catch our breath, and honestly, we are completely overwhelmed.

The sheer amount of love, patience, and encouragement we’ve received from all of you has left us entirely speechless. We have received dozens upon dozens of messages, phone calls, and visits from people stopping by just to offer a helping hand, support, and encouragement. We were especially blown away by the numerous local property owners who immediately reached out to offer us their available retail spaces to ensure our business always has a home—thank you.

You reminded us exactly why we love operating International Falls Discount Outlet in this town. A business is just a building and inventory, but it is the people who actually make it a community.

We are so profoundly grateful for each and every one of you. We truly could not do what we do without your unwavering support.

Good evening, International Falls and Surrounding Area! 👋🌇

Some of you saw our brief post yesterday about a "water issue" before it mysteriously vanished. 💧👻 We deleted it after getting pushback from people worried about "optics"—which is ironic, because nothing says bad optics quite like an unexpected indoor plumbing disaster. 🔍

Yesterday, we walked into our store to find a major mess. Eventually Jason went full Indiana Jones into the ceiling crawlspace and found the culprit: a massive plumbing failure raining raw sewage right over our cash register. 🤠 Let’s be completely clear: this wasn’t just a clean water leak. This was raw sewage—a serious biohazard that demands specialized, professional decontamination, not a quick patch job. The truly sad part? We warned the powers that be twice back in early July about severe red flags. We were ignored, and the pipe catastrophically failed. 🤷‍♂️💥

When we requested a proper, professional resolution, let's just say their idea of "fixing it" fell miles short of any acceptable standard, leaving us with zero actual biohazard cleanup. 🚫

Your safety and our standards mean too much to us to accept a half-done fix and open our doors over a mess that we do not believe has been properly and safely cleaned. We will never compromise our morals just to take the path of least resistance to make a few bucks.

(Note: We would love to drop every raw, unfiltered detail and vent about everything we've dealt with behind the scenes, and post all the photos, etc., but we'd rather put our energy where it counts. This is the streamlined version—cleaned up, but entirely truthful, because our community deserves to know the facts. We have all the documentation and legal vetting ready to go if needed, but our eyes are locked firmly on the road ahead). 📸

So, through absolutely no fault of our own, we are temporarily closed. But guess what? International Falls Discount Outlet is MOVING! 🚚📦🎉

To be completely honest, this is a devastating financial gut-punch. 💸🤕 We aren't a corporate giant; we are just one family who poured our life savings into this dream. Between a measurable amount of merchandise being contaminated and destroyed, emergency moving costs, and having just spent our remaining funds on two new delivery trucks, paying the price for this mess is incredibly unfair.

We honestly almost threw in the towel yesterday, but we are too stubborn. 🥊😤 Let our story be a lesson: stand up for yourselves. Never let someone else dictate what is 'good enough' for your livelihood, business, or your dreams. If someone refuses to do the right thing, take your power back, pack up, and build it better somewhere else. 💯

Because we lost so much, and given the current available options for retail spaces, the new space is most likely going to be larger and things might look a little bare at first. 🛒📉 But please be patient with us while we haul our surviving inventory to safer ground—we will rebuild, expand, and come back stronger than ever! 🌟

What an absolutely phenomenal week following our massive restock reopening! Thank you so much to everyone who came through the doors, dug through the deals, and supported our small business. You all made this week unforgettable!

🚨 PLOT TWIST: THE SECOND TRUCK IS HERE! 🚨

Remember when we told you guys we secured TWO massive truckloads of merchandise, and the second one wasn't supposed to arrive for a few more weeks to fill our backstock?

Well... surprise! 😅 The freight company decided to drop it off TODAY.

We are officially swimming in backstock! These massive, completely black-wrapped pallets were just delivered to the back while we are still recovering from the morning rush. We don't even fully know what is inside yet, but it is going to be incredibly good.

We are cracking these open and trying to figure out where we are going to put it all. Keep your eyes peeled, because the massive deals just keep coming and we've got way more than enough to keep our shelves packed for weeks!!!! 👀📦
