😳 Now what is after our bees!?!? 😱

While inspecting some hives last week, I noticed some movement at the front entrance of a hive. At first I thought something was after our bees. Come to find out they are natures recyclers!

Say hello to the, American Carrion Beetle 🪲

The American carrion beetle (Necrophila americana) is a North American beetle known for decomposing dead animals, fungi, and rotting fruit, playing a vital role in nutrient cycling. Adults are black with a distinctive yellow shield-like marking on their thorax, and they help control fly populations by eating their larvae. They are important in forensic entomology for estimating time of death and are sometimes called "burying beetles" for their habit of burying carcasses to protect their eggs.

Also worth noting, they are not a danger to humans. They do not bite or sting, are non-toxic, and do not damage living plants, crops, or homes. They are just cleaning up the dead bees that were likely carried out from the hive after expiring. 🐝 🤓

Stop in for all your baked goods, elderberry syrup and more!

Today is the day! 🥳🎉

Open for business from 10am-6pm. I am still baking so I will do my best to be in and out to say hi and chat with you all, if I miss you I am sorry!

A few things, please don’t use my yard to turn around in, we will have our vehicles out of the way as much as possible but I will have a few parking spots available. Please pull in respectfully.

There is a self serve cash box, and my Venmo available inside the shed.

If you have any questions or need me for anything please don’t hesitate to message me I will be available for the day.

I haven’t found a meal yet that our hot honey doesn’t upgrade 🤤. Tonight I drizzled it over roast and veggies, and it was amazing! We just made a fresh batch (which I feel we’ve perfected 😋) and we’ll have it available tomorrow at our Algonac show. Come see us or message us to place a porch pick-up.
