Lake Superior Unakite rock hounded from the Shores of Lake Superior, slabbed on the 10’’ Hi-Tech Diamond trim saw and tumbled – polished in the 12lb Highland Park Tumbler!!!

Mineral Profile of Unakite found in the Lake Superior Region:

Mohs Hardness scale: 6 to 7, Takes a nice polish

Pistachio Green (Epidote): Formed when hydrothermal fluids alter plagioclase feldspar and mafic minerals in the original granite.

Pink to Salmon (Orthoclase Feldspar): Resistant potassium feldspar that retains its original pink coloration.

Clear or Quartz-Gray Veins: Quartz locks the feldspar and epidote components together.
