Lord,
Before anything else, let this ministry belong to You.
let it be Yours.
Because if You are not building this, then all we’re doing is staying busy.
And there are already enough busy people.
We don’t need another organization.
We need Your heart.
Teach us to see people the way You do.
Not as problems to solve.
Not as projects to complete.
Not as numbers on a report.
Help us to see sons and daughters.
Image bearers.
People You have never stopped loving.
When someone walks through our doors carrying shame…
let us never add to it.
When someone is angry…
help us listen before we speak.
When someone has failed again…
remind us how patient You have been with us.
Keep us from becoming cynical.
Protect us from believing the worst about people.
Never let our past successes become an excuse to stop depending on You.
Lord…
don’t let us become famous.
Make Jesus famous.
Don’t let people leave talking about our generosity.
Let them leave talking about Your goodness.
If You ever have to choose between protecting our reputation and changing someone’s life…
change the life.
We’ll trust You with the reputation.
Help us never become so organized that we no longer notice the interruptions.
Some of the holiest moments we’ll ever experience won’t be on a schedule.
They’ll happen in hallways.
In parking lots.
Around a cup of coffee.
Standing beside a broken-down car.
Holding someone’s hand while they cry.
Don’t let us miss those moments because we’re in a hurry.
Teach us to love well.
Not efficiently.
Well.
Give us wisdom with every resource You place in our hands.
A bag of groceries.
An old recliner.
A bicycle.
A truck.
A camper.
A building.
A donation.
A volunteer’s afternoon.
A farmer’s knowledge.
A business owner’s experience.
None of it belongs to us.
Help us remember that.
Father, we know there will be days when the need feels overwhelming.
We’ll wonder if we’re making any difference at all.
On those days, remind us that You have always worked through ordinary people willing to bring what little they have.
Five loaves.
Two fish.
A widow’s oil.
A boy’s lunch.
A willing heart.
That’s enough for You.
Protect this place from pride.
Protect it from fear.
Protect it from mission drift.
If we ever start measuring success only by attendance, buildings, money, or recognition…
bring us back to the person standing in front of us.
Because ministry has always had a face.
It’s never been an idea.
And finally, Lord…
if one day this place becomes more concerned with preserving itself than serving others…
have the courage to dismantle it.
We would rather see these walls come down than watch this ministry forget why it exists.
We dedicate every room.
Every conversation.
Every meal.
Every donated vehicle.
Every volunteer.
Every prayer.
Every child.
Every family.
Every opportunity.
To You.
May this never simply become a place where people receive help.
May it become a place where people discover hope.
Find purpose.
Encounter Jesus.
And one day…
become the ones helping restore someone else.
That would be enough.
