Some relationships are worth celebrating! ☕️💚

This throwback takes us to January 2017 with Anna and David of in Tucson, Arizona, just months into Genuine Origin’s story.

FAQ: How do I roast the coffee I purchased? ☕️

Steven’s short answer: “I don’t know.”

And that’s kind of the point. There isn’t one perfect roast profile for every coffee or every roaster.

Start with that first roast, see what the coffee gives you, and adjust from there. Change one variable at a time, keep learning from each batch, and work toward the profile that brings out what you want from the coffee.

And if you’re stuck? Ask Steven! As a former roaster himself, he’s always happy to take a look at your roast profile and offer some advice.

Straight from the archives: Honduras, September 2016. 🌱

Joshua was behind the scenes at a coffee farm in Honduras, capturing a process that has always been a reminder of just how much time goes into every cup.

A young coffee plant can spend 6 to 12 months in the nursery before being moved into production, and a farmer may wait around three years before that newly planted tree properly produces fruit.

As we count down to our 10-year gathering, we’re looking back at some of the people, places, and moments that have been part of the Genuine Origin story from the very beginning!

Follow along. There’s plenty more in the archives to come.

Now THIS is a restock day!

Watching grow from roasting 228 lbs in 2023 to more than 2,400 lbs already this year is pretty incredible, and we’re proud to be their green coffee supplier along the way.

From those first batches to growing wholesale accounts, subscriptions, and a whole lot more coffee in the roaster, this is exactly why we love seeing where our Genuine Origin boxes end up.

3,000 lbs is in sight, ! We’ll keep the green coffee coming. 📦

A look back at origin! ☕️

These throwback photos take us to the historic Beneficio Pastores wet mill in Guatemala’s renowned Antigua volcanic region, where coffee beans are spread out under the sun to dry.

As we get closer to our 10-year gathering, we’re digging into the Genuine Origin archives and revisiting some of the places, coffees, and moments that have been part of our story.

Follow along and stay tuned! We have plenty more throwbacks (and a lot more) to share as we celebrate 10 years of Genuine Origin.

Before we look ahead, we have to go back to where it started.

July 2016. Our very first post: "specialty coffee from our origin operations in Southwest Antioquia, Colombia."

Ten years later, our network has grown, a lot of coffee has passed through our hands, and there are plenty more stories to tell. But our connection to origin has been there from day one.

As we count down to a very special 10-year gathering, we’ll be digging into the archives and sharing a few moments that helped get us here.

Stay tuned. We have a lot to celebrate!

What’s one of the most interesting coffees our QC team has cupped lately?

For Alex, it’s the Finca Villa Betulia Caturon Honey. With a profile she describes as reminiscent of Christmas, it’s quickly become a favorite around Genuine Origin HQ.

Watch to hear what makes this coffee stand out, then tell us: what’s the most interesting coffee you’ve cupped lately?
