Our mums are at the perfect stage to enjoy now-loaded with buds and ready for plenty of fall color! 🌼

is still a great time to plant!

Check out our tree availability on our website link below (call to confirm low stock items). We have maple favorites in stock while supply lasts including Fall Fiesta Sugar Maple, Firefall Maple, Autumn Blaze all with great fall color. We also have Royal Red Maple (deep burgundy leaves through the summer).

🌳🌸🪏Most think about planting Flowering Crabapples in the spring, but fall is a great time to shop and plant too. You can enjoy the ornamental fruit now and the flowers will come at the natural time to enjoy in the spring!

We have a nice fall crop of the most popular options: Prairifire and Red Splendor hold their fruit to enjoy during the winter until the birds enjoy. Spring snow has white blooms and no fruit. 🌾Ornamental grasses are looking amazing with their fall show! 🌾 Now is a great time to see the different types in landscapes and discover your favorites for planting now or for future projects.🪏

Here’s a breakdown of some common ornamental grasses for Minnesota in stock now, while supplies last. Many of these are warm season types that are best to find summer-fall:

🌾Reed Grass (Calamagrostis spp.)
Popular options: ‘Karl Foerster’, ‘Overdam’, and Korean Feather Reed Grass. Karl Foerster and Overdam bloom early and hold their plumes through the season, while Korean Feather Reed Grass puts on its show later in fall.

🌾Maiden Grass / Silvergrass (Miscanthus sinensis)
Often mistaken for pampas grass, which is not typically hardy in our area. Popular options include ‘Flame Grass’ and ‘Silver Feather’.

🌾 Big Bluestem (Andropogon gerardii)
Popular options: ‘Blackhawks’ and ‘Red October’.

🌾Little Bluestem (Schizachyrium scoparium)
Popular options: ‘Blue Heaven’, ‘Little Red Fox’, and ‘Standing Ovation’.

🌾Prairie Dropseed (Sporobolus heterolepis)
Options include the native species and ‘Golden Needles’, a newer selection with striking golden foliage early in the year.

🌾Switchgrass (Panicum virgatum)

The sun is back, and it looks like a beautiful day to plant!

After a hot summer, fall is one of our favorite times to get back outside and finish those planting projects. Cooler temperatures make planting more comfortable, watering is easier, and fall rains can help new plants get established before winter.

🍅🍅🍝Don’t delay! Tomatoes harvest is coming on strong and we have filled most pre-orders. Call ahead to reserve canning tomatoes or Roma tomatoes by the half bushel or peck.

We may have tomatoes on hand for walk-ins this week. $29.99 per half bushel regular canning tomatoes or $31.99 per half bushel Roma.
