Another absolutely beautiful week in paradise! If you're out and about, there are 4 antique shops in Ishpeming, and 2 more in Negaunee. Two thrift shops in Ishpeming. A nice variety of attractions, restaurants and more, all nearby. Of course, days and hours vary, with Sunday and Monday being tricky.

Summer is in full swing, and there's plenty of activities going on! Ore to Shore Mountain Bike Epic is this Saturday morning. There could be a few street disruptions. Saturday evening is the Buzz the Gut car show and cruise. The Marquette County Fair is next week. There's more, including three family events I'm attending so keep in mind that my 4pm closing is going to be 4 SHARP.

Summer is a really busy time for me, and many days, just too busy. Too much to do and not nearly enough time. I despise hot weather and humidity. I can get really snippy if even mildly provoked on those days. Sortta sorry.

My payoff is the wonderful people who come to the store. Several just today. These interactions mean a lot to me. But there are always stressful things going on in peoples lives that you know nothing about. This is why kindness is always the best path. Giving people some grace and the benefit of a doubt. I'm happy to report that one of my biggest worries all but went away this afternoon. I am so grateful.

Stop and appreciate what and who you have while you have them. Nothing is guaranteed.

What does this have to do with the store? Nothing, and everything. If today went differently, the store might close almost immediately. But it didn't.

More of summer busy times. Rock and Mineral Show this Saturday at the Elks Club. Music at Old Ish Park at 7 Thursday, with the Farmers market beginning at 6. The heat and humidity have returned, so both air conditioning units are cranked up!

Here's the building on the other side of Pearl Street. I have been a champion for the preservation and redevelopment of historic properties everywhere, but especially in Ishpeming. The Anderson Block is an important, contributing building here in our National Historic District.

This historic building has lived many lives - what does the future hold for this landmark in downtown Ishpeming?

Summer brings many things, including the St. Rocco Italian Festival, this Saturday at Al Quaal, and the Outback Art Show, and Art on the Rocks , at the lower harbor, Marquette. If you venture here, there's a well marked detour around road construction on 3rd Street. A small detour over to 2nd. Follow the signs.

Greetings! It has been hot and uncomfortable. I have added another air conditioning unit, with the upstairs staying comfy, and the main floor is decent. Windows are STAYING SHUT so humidity and smoke stay outside.

Through this, numerous new arrivals are coming in! Dozens or more each day!!! It's always an adventure.

Hope that everyone had a safe and fun holiday! I ended up dehydrated during the Festival of Treasures on Friday, and got sick. A very kind customer brought me a lemonade. It really helped. Was up to walking to our friends house for front row viewing of the Ishpeming 4th of July Parade. Then, a quiet day.

So we're opening a little early on Monday. Around 11!!! Normal hours are Monday and Wednesday noon-ish till 4, and Thursday through Saturday 10:15 ish till 4. No Tuesday or Sunday hours. Any buying or appraisals are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Questions??? Call 906 486-8680 during business hours. Thanks.
