Your Art, Your Stories – Call for Artists: Artists ages 14 and older are invited to submit artwork for Your Art, Your Stories, a community art exhibit at The Burrow, 200 E. Division St., Ishpeming. There is no cost to participate. Artwork in any medium is welcome, including painting, drawing, photography, fiber arts, sculpture, mixed media, and more. Pieces should explore the theme of telling a story (fiction or nonfiction) and be accompanied by a brief written story or artist statement. Artwork may be dropped off during the regular business hours of Bats Amore Used Books or Snow Day Fibers through August 28. Selected works will be featured in a public exhibit and storytelling reception on September 4.

Only read what YOU want to read. No pressure for page count, genre or even finishing whatever it is. Bring your book too if there are any parts of it you want to read to the group. But mostly, just a laid back time to talk about reading with people who also read for fun.

Burnout has become such a common part of life that many of us barely notice how much we are carrying until our bodies start telling us to slow down.

This month we will be gathering to talk about Burnout by Emily and Amelia Nagoski. We hope to have a space for honest conversation about how stress shows up differently for each of us and what could actually help us move through the stress cycle.

Whether you listened to the book, skimmed it, read a few pages or devoured the whole text; you’re invited to the table to discuss!
