We’re wrapping up our 50th Anniversary Celebration Week with a full day of fly tying!

Join us tomorrow, Saturday, August 15th from 9am–4pm at Henry’s Fork Anglers for fly tying demonstrations hosted by Hal Gordon and featuring some of the region’s finest fly tyers.

50 years. Five decades of guides. One unforgettable conversation.

Join us Friday, August 14 at 6:00 PM for Guides of the Decades, a special panel discussion celebrating 50 years of guiding at Henry’s Fork Anglers.

Moderated by Mike Lawson, the panel brings together Jim Vermillion, Mike Atwell, Michael “Mikey” Langford, Joe Bare and Colton Schofield—each representing a different decade in our history.

From stories on the water to the evolution of the guiding profession and fly fishing itself, they’ll share their experiences and perspectives from the past half-century.

Join Henry’s Fork Anglers founder Mike Lawson for a photographic journey through five decades in the fly-fishing business. Mike began tying flies commercially and working as a fishing guide in the early 1970s. In 1976, he and his wife, Sheralee, opened Henry’s Fork Anglers in Last Chance.

Through historic photographs, personal stories, and firsthand recollections, Mike will trace his experiences as a guide, outfitter, fly-shop owner, and general manager. He will talk about the early years of Henry’s Fork Anglers, the development of guiding and outfitting on the region’s great trout streams, and the many people who helped shape the business along the way.

The presentation will also explore how the Henry’s Fork and the surrounding fly-fishing community have changed over the past 50 years—from important developments in fisheries management and conservation to changes in equipment, guiding, and the fly-fishing industry itself.

Most importantly, Mike will recognize the guides, employees, mentors, customers, friends, and family members who helped turn a small fly shop into one of the region’s most enduring fly-fishing businesses. This will be an informal and personal look back at the people, places, challenges, and memorable experiences behind 50 years of Henry’s Fork Anglers.
