Never in the last 3 or 4 years have I ever had an issue harvesting honey! If it looks like I'm smoking the s*** out of these bees it's because I definitely am! These bees were so nasty and aggressive I got stung no less than seven times through my gloves. This year I decided to buy buckfast bees because they are recommended as Hardy winter bees and heavy honey producers. At this point I don't even care if they die over the winter I will be going back to carnelians and Italian bees because they are much milder temperament and so much easier to deal with.

These suckers act like they're killer bees or something 🤣😅

Update: I went ahead and cleaned up frames and gave them back and winterized the inside of the hive so I don't have to go back in! Praying my queen finds a nice gentleman in the spring to change the culture 🤣

Feeling accomplished. It's been a busy week and even busier weekend! Thrilled over the moon to score these behives, extra frames, swarm traps, pollen and feeders, extra frames and so much more for next to nothing. It felt like a steal! Cant wait to get it all cleaned up and set up for the spring. So impressed with the compost we put in our garden. We've been eating out of it for weeks with no end in sight! Guess I'll be canning all week. I'm. It even have way through picking everything that's ready.

I have a new layer from this springs pullets. I believe these came from my blue ameraucana. She was hiding them in her grow out pen. I really need to get those out of the run before winter 😍

Beyond greatful and thrilled. I've been working on setting up breeding coops for my beauties and I came across some shipping crates on FB marketplace. They are 7ft deep and bright and. Almost 4 ft wide. Perfect! I'm so excited to get my breeding programs moving forward and hoping to launch my website by November. I currently have show and quality breeder lines for opal and cream legbars, splash and self blue ameraucana, welsummer, silverrudds, splash marans, blue partidge brahmas, and working on dark eggs for lack copper marans and blue splash red laced wyndottes. I'm also thinking of adding chocolate silkies. Super excited. What's your favorite breed?

I've been working on editing my bee install this year. They are doing so well. I'm looking forward to a productive bee season

Picked up my bees at Mann Lake this past weekend and wow…
Seeing all these buzzing boxes heading off to new hives is something special 🐝
So many little colonies starting their journeys at the same time 💛
