When shoppers are looking through racks of clothing and shoes, presentation matters! A few extra minutes at home can make your items stand out—and help them SELL! 🛍️

🧺 Freshen it up!
Make sure clothing is clean and free from stains, odors and pet hair.

👀 Give every item a once-over.
Check those easy-to-miss spots—collars, cuffs, knees and the front of shirts are common places for hidden stains.

🔘 Button it. Zip it. Snap it.
Take a few seconds to make clothing look neat and ready to wear.

👗 Keep outfits together.
If pieces were made to be a set, keep them together so shoppers can see the complete outfit—and make sure all pieces are the same size unless clearly noted. Sets always sell better if you can pair shirts with pants.

👟 Don’t forget the shoes!
Give shoes a good wipe-down and remove dirt, mud and scuff marks. Magic Erasers work great on many sneaker soles! Clean shoes can look completely different with just a little effort.

🥾 Check the bottoms, too.
Knock off dried mud, grass and anything stuck in the soles. Shoppers WILL turn them over and look!

👞 Keep pairs together.
Secure shoes together so one doesn’t wander away from its mate during the sale.

💡 Think like a shopper: If you picked up your item, would it look clean, cared for and ready for your child to wear?

When you’re tagging your items, you’ll have an important decision to make: Are you willing to let this item sell for 50% off?

Here’s an easy way to decide! 👇

🤔 Ask yourself: “Would I rather sell this for half price or take it back home?”

If you’d rather have the cash and clear it out—mark it for discount! ✔️

⭐ Be selective with special items.
Have something higher-end, brand new, or an item you know you’d rather keep than sell for half price? It’s perfectly okay not to discount it.

👕 Think differently about everyday items.
Clothes your kids have outgrown, toys they no longer play with and things that have been sitting in storage may be worth discounting just to get them SOLD!

🛍️ Remember—50% OFF shopping brings bargain hunters!
Shoppers often come ready to BUY on discount days. An item that was passed over earlier may suddenly be exactly the deal someone is looking for.

We know you want to make the most from your items—but remember, an item only makes you money if it SELLS! 🛍️

When deciding on a price, ask yourself:

🤔 “If I saw this at a consignment sale, what would I be willing to pay for it?”

A few things to keep in mind:

👕 Condition matters. Like-new items can bring more than items showing wear.

🏷️ Brand matters. Higher-end and popular brands can usually be priced higher than basic everyday brands.

🛍️ Remember shoppers are looking for a deal! If your price is too close to retail, they may pass it by.

💵 Don’t get stuck on what you originally paid. The goal is to turn things your family no longer uses into CASH—not pack them back up and take them home!

⭐ When you’re torn between two prices, the lower price is often the one that gets it SOLD.

🧺✨ SIMPLY CONSIGN — HELPFUL TIPS FOR OUR CONSIGNORS! ✨🧺

Sale time will be here before we know it! A little prep now can make drop-off SO much quicker and easier. Here are a few tips to help you get ready:

👕 ORGANIZE CLOTHING BY SIZE
Put clothing in size order and keep boys and girls separated. This makes drop-off and getting everything onto the sales floor much faster!

🏷️ TRY A TAGGING GUN
Tagging guns are much quicker and easier than safety pins! You can find inexpensive tagging guns on Amazon. Just be careful to place the tag through a seam or clothing tag whenever possible so you don’t damage the fabric.

👟 CLEAN UP THOSE SHOES
Clean shoes make a BIG difference! A Magic Eraser works great on many sneaker soles and other washable surfaces. Wipe off dirt and make sure shoes are dry before drop-off.

🧺 WASH & FRESHEN CLOTHING
Freshly washed clothing sells better! Check for stains, pet hair, odors and excessive wrinkles before tagging.

🔘 CHECK THE LITTLE THINGS
Button buttons, zip zippers, snap snaps and check pockets. Make sure outfits have all their pieces and that toys or equipment have the parts needed to use them.

🔋 ADD BATTERIES WHEN NEEDED
If you’re selling a toy or baby item that lights up, makes sounds or moves, having working batteries lets shoppers know it works!

🧩 KEEP SETS TOGETHER
Use zip-top bags for small pieces and securely attach them to the main item. Shoes should also be securely paired together.

💰 PRICE TO SELL
Ask yourself: “What would I be willing to pay for this at a consignment sale?” A great price can mean the difference between taking it home and turning it into cash!
