She wanted it painted, so here’s how it went on this Bible cover ….. not really a fan of using gray, but every color has its place in the world. The binding will be a forest green kidskin and if I’m brave enough, I might just change the thread in my machine to white. But next comes tooling the pockets, a snowflake design, then assembly.

Something has been really on my mind lately. And it has to do with all this AI stuff. To me, there is just no substitute for hand crafted. The time and patience required to practice, using scrap and even making more, is all worth it in the end. Once learned skills are achieved, that is something no one can ever take from you. Yes we can by all means learn from Masters of the trade by copying. And we should be so fortunate that they are gracious enough to share with us, to give us all a “leg up.” It is important to me to give back by purchasing their pattern packs as it helps the industry grow. But know this, I ALWAYS give credit to the original designer of the floral works I do. Cause to me, that’s just the way it oughta be.

In other words, to rely soley on AI, 3-D printing to make templates, and then sell as entirely handcrafted is a falsehood. It’s FAKE.

If we should be so “gifted” by God for our talents, the ideas will come and art will flow exactly how it was intended.
