Always loved Bacharach's musical genius. His use of key changes and time signature changes was inspired. He won his first Grammy in 1969, and his last of around 6 in 2008. Songs you may remember-Promises Promises, Walk on By, That's What Friends Are For, This Guys in Love, A House is Not a Home, Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head (as well as the entire score of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid), Close to You, and many more.

He also won numerous other awards including Academy Awards, Gershwin awards, and at age 72 People magazine named him one of the "Sexiest Men Alive", and one of the "50 Most Beautiful People" in 1999.

At the time of his death, he had written seventy-three U.S. and fifty-two UK Top 40 hits. His musical association with Dionne Warwick made them both stars. He collaborated famously with Hal David in his early career, as well as Carole Bayer Sager, Elvis Costello, and others.

It’s hard to quantify the importance much less the beauty and pure joy that is the musical legacy of Burt Bacharach. It will live on in the hearts of all of us who grew up in the 60’s and 70’s, and no doubt, inspire this world with “Love Sweet Love” for generations to come.

Our project at Pope United Methodist Church near Springport and Parma on Tuesday Dec 6 . PUMC had us install a new small sound system and an ultra short throw projector with a motorized screen. The late Joan Thomson, who passed away very recently, was the leader from the church for this project. A wonderful person who will be greatly missed by her church family.
Our thanks to Mike McDonald (no, not that one) who stepped in to be our contact person for installation and did a great job. The church electrician, John Betz, was an invaluable help. Our thanks also to Pastor Larry Rubingh for his guidance and input. This installation was facilitated by our Installer Daryl Orr, with Josh Soper and his assistant. Joel Randolph was again my eyes and ears on the job and did the training session.
