🦚 Meet the Newest Feather in Our Flock! 🧡

We’re delighted to introduce Betsy Youngdahl as the new Gallery Manager of The Orange Peacock Gallery!

Of course, Betsy isn’t entirely new to our flock—she has been part of the family all along! Now, we’re making it official and putting her creativity, experience, and artistic eye to work helping the gallery grow.

A longtime member of the Jackson community, Betsy brings an impressive blend of leadership, sales experience, and community connection to the gallery. Her background includes nonprofit leadership, retail sales, marketing, visual merchandising, special events, and customer relations. She has served as the executive director of two nonprofits, spent 18 years with Doncaster, and most recently worked at Mason Jones in Grand Rapids.

Betsy is also a talented oil portrait artist and already a familiar face at The Orange Peacock. She has developed and led successful gallery programming, giving her a firsthand understanding of how to showcase handmade work, connect customers with artists, and create a warm and welcoming experience.

With her artistic eye, business experience, and enthusiasm for bringing people together, Betsy is the perfect person to help The Orange Peacock Gallery continue to grow, evolve, and add even more color to Jackson.

🦚 A Little Pause Before Something New!

The Orange Peacock Gallery will be closed Thursday, September 3 through Saturday, September 5 for the Labor Day holiday and due to a temporary staffing shortage.

We’ll reopen next week with new hours—and a few exciting announcements! A new Gallery Manager, a fresh Creative Classroom schedule, and more colorful things are coming soon.

One of the best parts of teaching a class ( Betsy Youngdahl) is coming home with a project of your own! ❤️

My mosaic garden pole from the class I taught at The Orange Peacock has finally found its home in the garden. Bits of broken china, tile, glass, flowers and color—all pieced together layer by layer and topped with a birdbath and a favorite little bird.

I love how something made from so many odds and ends can become its own little piece of garden art.

And yes…I think I may be hooked on mosaics! ✨

Our first Mosaic Garden Totems Class is a wrap!

Broken china. Sea glass. Vintage treasures. A little imagination and a lot of creativity. I love watching ordinary pieces become extraordinary works of art. No two mosaic totems are ever alike—and that’s the beauty of it.
