Whether you’re brand new to role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons or you’re a veteran player looking for a new group, this is for you!

Hosted by members of our community, these events are great for learning to play in a relaxing, low-pressure environment.

Beat the heat of the summer at one of our favorite LL monthly events! We will be welcoming *7* unique vendors this month in our indoor market (FREE A/C included). 🥵

The Literary Lounge indoor market is every third Sunday of the month and will be held on Sunday, August 16th from 10AM-3PM in The Literary Lounge event space. This event is completely indoors and is rain or shine! ☔

This is a great opportunity for you to meet small business owners, pick up some unique finds, and browse your favorite locally owned bookstore!

It's baaaaack!! So many folks have been asking us when we are doing another Romance Fill A Bag Sale. This event usually only happens around Valentines Day but we heard y'all!!

📖 For Bookstore Romance day we are bringing back a much loved Literary Lounge Tradition!

It's back to school time! Educators, you know what that means! Our Third Annual Teachers Lounge is back! Let's send our local educators off with plenty of books for their classroom libraries and any school supplies they might need. ❤️

Here's how it works ⤵️

👩‍🏫 Teachers: This event is just for you all! All teachers can fill one bag of kids books for FREE to use in their classroom libraries. We will also have school supplies and teachers can fill one bag of FREE classroom supplies.

📚 We will have select half priced NEW books that will be BOGO at the event for teachers only (Example: one book has a list price of $10 but with 50% off is now $5, you'll get another book listed for $10 or less FREE!)

🛍️ If you are changing grades/subjects or just want to downsize your classroom books and supplies you can drop them off to swap anytime prior to the event.

🪩 *BONUS: the school with the most amount of teachers in attendance and /or donations will receive an exclusive FREE Bingo Night at The Literary Lounge (up to 30 seats).

🏷️Teachers always receive 15% off their purchase everyday, all the time at The Literary Lounge.

Y’all have made this dream come true! The Literary Lounge turned two last week and I just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who showed up to support this weekend! Of course, thank you to anyone who has supported the store in the last two years. It means so much that we have been able to keep our doors open and provide a special place in the Murray Hill and Jacksonville community. Here’s to (at least) 2 more years (no for real I signed a lease for two more years ) !! 💕

The Literary Lounge is a small team that includes me (Mariah - the owner), Amanda (bookseller extraordinaire), Janelle (not pictured - my sister doing remote admin tasks over in Cali), sometimes my momma (not pictured) and sometimes Julia (one of my closest friends who is always willing to lend a helping hand). I absolutely could not do this myself even though I would but the people in my life won’t let me. 😂 They are absolutely incredible and together we make everything happen for y’all!

This store and this space is for the community. We have tried our hardest to create a welcoming and inclusive space for people in all walks of life. When you walk in the store you will always be greeted with a friendly smile and plenty of book recommendations. Our favorite activity is to yap and we strive to be a business that not only remembers you by name but your interests, your favorite genres, and what’s going on in your life.

In the last two years we have doubled in size (!) due to our events consistently being at capacity. Having a space dedicated to events has allowed us to host outside vendors, local artists and authors, licensed film screenings, book clubs, local non profit meetings, baby showers, birthday parties, school fundraisers, and so much more. We have been able to partner and connect with so many other small businesses, artists, schools, etc. etc. If you know me I’m always willing to try something at least once and I’ll (usually) say yes to nearly every request.

Thank you all so much for letting me and my team get to do this crazy thing called run a small business.
